Spoilers for the film:
Ray is a creepy biker who has intimacy issues wanting to keep the S/M relationship 100% chaste and won't fuck Collin, until he runs away after his mom's death (and his mom is ok with Collin being gay, but finds Ray "mean" because he uses Ray as a servant and doesn't dhow affection).
Ray does try to be nice; when he makes Collin cry by refusing to acknowledge Collins birthday, he hastily has his biker gang (who are frat boy bikers who wear full body suits and anonymous face helmet and ride Japanese motorcycles; IE gearfetish type biker types, not classic biker gay types) throw a surprise party for him the next dsy and take him on an impromptu road trip.
But the focus is on Ray having serious issues on not wanting to be in an actual relationship and using the slave/master relationship format to keep himself from being hurt as he implies to Collins Mon that showing affection is an outdated notion.
It isn't until he agrees to do a day being normal and showing Collin affection and doing normal couple stuff that culminates in the two having sex, after Collins Mon dies, that Ray snaps and the next day, ghosts both Collin and his biker gang in a panic over being a normal person. Collin gives up after trying to find him and continues being into S/M but makes a point of telling his future dons that he expects emotional availability from them, as far as him learning his lesson dealing with Ray's emotional baggage rather than repeating the same soulless relationship with others

This. It's a sexless film about super vanilla slave and Master gay shit, where the slave basically is a house boy who doesn't get laid until the final act because the Master is a gay incel who runs away the second he has to be an actual boyfriend and fuck his lover.
At best it's about not dating emotionally distant men and at worst, it's a film that is about how boring slave/master relationships are when you consider that 99% of the people in them have serious emotional issues and a crutch to not having to try and be in a normal relationship.
Oh, so Pedro will get up early on the Sabbath for a gay bondage torture flick, but not for Church.
