I've been a Gumroad sub for a long time and I had a feeling it wouldn't live up to the hype. This trailer looks amazing though. Like the perfect content I wanted to see from MDE. I'm feeling good about what I'm seeing.
I don't hate MDE but after Sam started roiding he became even more cynical. He claimed around this point that he felt bad for being a negative influence and shifted to giving self-help advice that was often pretty fucking bad. Now he does low-effort streams where he takes shitloads of money from fans who are poorer than him, the same shit Ethan Klein and Hassan Piker do. You can say he's not scamming anybody because they're donations, but he is targeting his audience, the people donating are either mentally ill or just normal broke losers desperate for advice. He ignores half the donations and the rest of the donation reads just shit up the stream and make it unwatchable. He openly creates money grabs like this and the NFTs and at this point, his podcast and this shit are 95% of what he puts out so there's not much to like apart from the occasional watchable podcast clip. WP2 will probably be alright but there's no chance it'll even be as good as the first season, so again, it's not like he's doing anything worth getting that excited about. I actually think the trailer looks better than I expected though.

I've been following Sam for a while and it's really cool to see things come together. I've been waiting a long time but they have the gang back together... patched things up with charles and everything and it looks like they're firing on all cylinders. There's just something beautiful about it, I bet this is going to have a big impact.

If a season 3 of WP happens (or a season 2 of Extreme Peace, whatever), which have already confirmed it will, I hope Sam eventually burries the hatchet with some of the old MDE contributors and brings them back to the fold - specially the ones that were involved in WP1. Bring Andy back on as a director, James Price as the audio guy again, have him and Zack Waltman hand over some their tracks.
I mean, it was almost unthinkable for Charls to forgive Sam a few years ago, and yet here we are.
