It's Over

I don't feel bad for anyone who gives a shit about anything Pixar has put out since Toy Story 3(at the latest).

Why have they been so incompetent since 2010?

Holy shit make a new art style it has been a decade since Inside Out

we want the shota audience

I wonder what the rewrites actually did. I think the first trailer had a big crab alien guy as a positive character but he became a villain after the rewrites as shown in the full trailer. But it might be that he becomes a villain later on, first being a neutral character, or he gets redeemed so it's not given if that was the change.

According to the article, made the story less sappy/generational trauma focused and more comedic. Which is odd considering they have the Turning Red people doing it, maybe they learned from their mistakes?

All the founding members and talent left. Like everything post-MCU Disney touches, it's just a shell of what it once was.

Why would they make it less sappy when the tearjerker stuff is what Pixar has most success with? Inside Out 2 last year. Coco (which was written by Adrian Molina who originally wrote and directed Elio) was too a hit. Turning Red was in fact much more comedic and less sappy than usual Pixar so no wonder they took those people to rewrite the film to be more comedic, but again that's an odd thing to do.

To be very honest with you gentlemen... I don't care for human characters in Pixar movies. I want some oddball situations like Finding Nemo or Toy Story or something. Something that tickles the imagination. Not some brat kid screaming and emoting for 2 hours. I don't know why they keep trying to make these movies with kids getting into hijinks.
Even that Fire/Water movie was basically just regular people but elements, which ceases to be interesting past the skit length.

It's like they can't sit down and come up with a decent concept anymore.

they literally fired their brains and heart because he liked giving hugs and women wanted their moment

If I remember correctly basically all the good Pixar movies came out of a single pitch meeting sometime back in the 1990's.
Like Toy Story through the Incredibles .

Almost everything since the 2008 recession has just felt superficial and lame

I keep forgetting pixar is still technically a thing, even if its a shambling corpse

Why don't they just delay it?

Ratatouille is the best Pixar movie though

generational trauma

I thought it was an autism empowerment movie. What do you mean more generational trauma? We already fucking did this twice with Encanto and Turning Red. Is Pixar THAT fucking lazy at this point?

Autism is convincing yourself the one time your parents yell at you for being a little shit is generational trauma.

Even that Fire/Water movie was basically just regular people but elements, which ceases to be interesting past the skit length.

I watched it as a joke and was stunned that Pixar did the first traditional Disney romance story since Tangled. It's unfortunate that the visuals were so automated that it looks like a videogame because the script was half decent (though I'm beyond fatigued by muh generational trauma and the movie had enough else going on they could have easily taken that out).

None of you watch any Pixar movies. Just shut up and stop posting.

Just shut up and stop posting about movies on the television and film board

Coco is legit a great movie with amazing visuals and good music.

Elemental wasn't too bad at all, it was like a rom-com about rom-coms, basically distilling the concept to bare essentials, to the point of the concept literally being basical elements meshing together and such. It's kind of neat in a meta way while taking the story seriously. The designs could've been better but I liked how the elements were constantly interacting with the environment.

Book of Life had better visuals and cost a fraction of the budget

Pixar is full of jeets now.

The concept is shit. Fire and water literally don't mix, a child knows this. But in the movie world they can mix because... magic. So what the fuck was the point of making them fire and water people? They may as well be normal people.

It's a metaphor for racism you moron. It's just Zootopia's plot but romance.

don't care

It was a massive hit and everyone liked it, but I am of contrarian opinion that it's not especially good. I just don't like it aesthetically and that ending was trying way too hard to be sad. Also it's an autistic complaint but the logistics of the afterlife are kind of stupid, like eventually everyone will be forgotten, it's impossible to genuinely be remembered for eternity, so there's a dark implication that everyone will disappear eventually. I also thought the twist was mostly obvious.
Another contrarian opinion I have is that Soul is on paper a better movie than Coco, but it also suffers from a bad artstyle (even worse one than Coco, Coco just had overkill favela visuals for me, but Soul has horrid character design) and a useless non-villain. But the perspective it took was more interesting to me, with how it emphasized why life is worth living.

It's so dense, every single image has so many things going on

The solution to the problem was pretty stupid admittedly.

Puxar hasn't made a visually good film since Up

lasseter got metoo'd and took the heart/soul/creative drive with him. also he got replaced by DEI women and we know how well that always turns out.

Lasseter's last big thing before he got pushed out was fucking Planes, he was gone before that happened

traditional Disney romance story

it's interracial coded, my guy

Daily reminder that Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 were the only Disney animated movies that didn't flop since Frozen 2

Lasseter went on to become the head of animation at Skydance Animation and the two movies that studio did so far are mediocre at best, just some generic slop for streaming. I think he lost his touch for finding talent as well.

I can't wait until the sequel comes out in 2029, which will ruin it.

No, that's Up!

Aamerican company with american feminists is responsible for turning it to shit you dishonest Shitmerican fuckwit. Truth is, you people are lower than jeets.

i didnt mind Luca. but it wasnt a flagship movie from what i understand.

Why did Pixar go full beanmouth?

it's Eliover

Elio? A more fitting name would be "I'm a genderless beanmouth brownoid written by troons."

Also - why is Element City surrounded by water, which is apparently not sentient? Isn't that like have a human city surrounded by lakes of blood?

how do you spend 300m on this?

What movie is this

Ratatouille is overrated

It's a lot of drugs and hookers. I'm sure a percentage of it is a cut for the bigger names and maybe some friends.

Inb4 it was to add an mpreg subplot

Seriously this shit is HIDEOUS.
It makes shrek look like a greek statue

Minor rewrites in Post

While most of the character designs have remained intact, the latest trailer, released last month, revealed that some heroes and villains swapped roles entirely.

Okay, a tad more than minor

Imagine, rewriting and redoing everything. Only because Trump won and now they're scared pussies. How does Trump keep winning?

There's clouds but they aren't the wind people

This trailer didn't even look real it was such a sketchy idea:

hes a boy

is he young or a teen

is this alien abduction supposed to be scary

there are all these jokes

is this sci fi or more like ET where its just normal but with an alien

He unironically has a skyhigh EQ that masks a low IQ and has this uncanny knack for making you think he is super stupid. IF you can lawfare Trump down his strategies don't work but no that he is allowed to run free without constant obstacles he can actually be who he is meant to be. His entire thing is looking like a clown and you think he will be easy to defeat but then he sees through everyones bullshit.

they are located in New Zealand.

Notice how the background motion constantly leads your eye away from the characters and cannot naturally take in the frame.

Pixar prides themselves on having a largely gay staff. I remember them releasing some behind the scenes video years ago where they mentioned that. I can only imagine in the time since then it's advanced to trannies, too. The only way half your employees are gay is if you're literally selecting employees based off how fucked up their sexuality is over talent. You could ignore every other factor in the decline and that would be a sufficient explanation.

This has sunk a number of AAA vidya studios already.

ELIO

ELIO KONTOS

beanmouth movie with scene designed to give kids a vore fetish

Coco was the last good Pixar flick and even that was after a bunch of mediocrity, if anything else they make is good, it's a pleasant surprise at most.

That's some shitty compositing right there

And the 'fire people' also have open fires which aren't sentient either. The concept isn't bad but the execution is nonsensical.
