Columbine (2025)

You are cast by A24 as a director to make a kino about the massacre without showing any, not glorifying either murder or depression

How do you choose to end the movie?

Personally I would like Warfare 2025, the camera would pan to an empty street as the two boys leave their house for the final time and headed to Columbine high school

I love David Warner.

They've made a lot of movies like that. How about showing the school shooting in full for once? That's the important part. Not the why, but the how. You focus too much on the shooters and you always end up making them sympathetic. These kids were evil and that was that. Their bullying was very tame compared to what other kids were going through.

I would show the families while watching the news, but only their faces, never the screens, just raw tears and fear

It wasn't even about the bullying, as far as I know, they just wanted to kill everybody

elephant is already the best school shooting movie that can be made

Do ya' thing, guys, make me proud

they were both KWABOTY candidates thats for sure

Id go full Oliver Stone and show the glowies pumping them full of ssri's and ultra'ing them up to it. "This will help us get a ton of new regulations passed."

Pretty much but because most people can't seemingly grasp plain and unjustified primordial evil, they've made so many of these school-shooter movies based on Columbine trying to add some kind of sympathetic backstory to it which never works. Those fucks would've done it in every possible reality.

there already was an a24 columbine movie

A sideplot could be a romance between Jamal and Heather. They both survive the massacre, because love is stronger than bullets. It would be the hook to our movie. The shooting would happen in the background, thus not glorifying it.

How do you choose to end the movie?

I'd listen

I would end the film by showing people cleaning the school in the aftermath. Scrubbing blood out of the library floor. Picking up textbooks with bulletholes and blood. Cleaning spilled cafeteria food. You'd see an image of a Lisa Frank folder with a small piece of scalp sitting on top of it, with very blonde hair.

I what way would a movie about columbine be glorifying murder or depression. That seems like it would be extremely challenging to do that.

I show the planning and buildup to the shooting, as well as their everyday lives, then when they enter the school I just cut to static images of the Doom map they made of the school, with no enemies inside of it or UI. Then the movie ends

I would glorify the massacre with all kinds of MTV-style cinematography, and then masturbate in front of a green-screen like Gaspar Noe did for Irreversible, and digitally insert myself into nearly every frame OF the massacre.

This cover is so fucking kino, it's a shame all reprints fucked it up

Much better than the faggy Elephant movie
Also play some Refueling Base while they approach the building

Yeah, I wonder why it would be.

Wait, wtf kind of cool.

Make the entire movie from the perspective of a teacher who knew, and was nice to, Eric and Dylan. The audience never sees Dylan's or Eric's faces directly.

In one scene, the teacher is helping Eric with an assignment. Another scene the teacher is giving Dylan some pizza for a class pizza party. There are classic "hey stop bullying him!" scenes where the teacher fends off bullies. There's a scene where a tattletale kid snitches on Eric or Dylan for having porn or smoking cigarettes or being weird. The teacher talks to the parents of Eric or Dylan.

The day of the shooting, the teacher is in the classroom, teaching as normal. The shooting scene shows all the associated panic and horror among the students and the teacher as they learn the school is under attack. They hide. They pray. They cry. They scream. They see students running. But no gunshots are even heard. They are in a part of the school far away from danger. The shooting ends and the police show up. The dismissal of students to horrified parents is shown. The anger and outrage of some parents is shown. The teacher shows strength as they comfort some parents and patiently listen to complaints from some parents.

The end of the movie is the teacher alone at home looking through a yearbook and crying.

Pic related

I would personally cast John Bernthal or Dave Bautista as the teacher. A masculine man. To examine the bond between older males and adolescent males. To examine everyday courage.

from the quotes etc i have seen harris comes off as a giant cluster b schizo that wanted to murder everyone as revenge for them not treating him like a cool tough guy like he imagined himself to be, kind of like elliot rodger but not as much about getting pussy, and then klebold was just some sadbrain that wanted to an hero. apparently all or almost all the killings was harris and klebold just sort of tagged along?

I'd end it with a janitor driving into the parking lot, getting out and going "UGH I WAS STUCK IN TRAFFIC AND I FORGOT MY LUNCH AT HOME, COULD THIS DAY BE ANY WORSE?!" Then Sum41 over the credits.

this is definitely the way to go. also do a tarantino-style ahistorical twist where just as they're about to off themselves they say "nah" and then go out the front door and massacre all the cops and parents outside in a giant django unchained gorefest with comedic levels of blood

Chatgpt is having a normal one

This.

Was about to post this
At least someone on this board watches films
So you'd end it basically the same way Zone of Interest did?

I would listen to what they had to say.

This movie already exists and it's called Elephant. You aren't going to get a better school shooting movie than that.

What about We Need to Talk About Kevin?

More like We Need To Talk About How Fucking Boring This Movie Is

Haven't seen ZoE, any good? I just think people would have a visceral reaction to seeing the things they grew up with, like Lisa Frank folders, become objects of death and suffering. Like, "I *was* that kid. That could have been me."

zoe

Zone of the Enders kicks ass, but it's a PS2 mecha game

zone of interest

A really good 45 minute short, stretched out into an abysmal "yeah I get it" of 2 hours

The ending is still kino.

digitally insert myself into nearly every frame OF the massacre

lost

holy shit this would be so fucking boring anon
never even think of going near film writing/production, you suck ass at it

Not show any gore the entire movie and then show a full minute of them blowing their brains out in the library with blood and brains leaking everywhere and pooling around their bodies etc
I don't know what I'm trying to say with this shot I just think it would be hella cool

I would end it with a graphic lesbian sex scene that acts as a visual metaphor for the violence that's occuring

Jesus dude.

As far as I'm concerned it's your fault for going to see the columbine movie
