And secondly the whole point of Berserk is that Guts's indomitable HUMAN will will always be stronger than any demonic supernatural bullshit. Surrendering his soul to demonic bullshit would be the ultimate thematic hypocrisy and ruin decades worth of character development

Guts is still totally KEKED by Griffith. Griffith is literally untouchable. Griffith 's downfall will have to be himself/his destructive love of Guts because there is no way Guts is laying a finger on someone so absurdly overpowered. Sometimes the most rational ending is the gayest ending.

It's obvious how it'll end. Griffith will fall out of favor with the Godhand (perhaps getting too big for his britches) so they'll depower him, and Guts will effortlessly mercy-kill his pathetic ass. It's also setting up that Guts will have to kill the Moonlight Boy to kill Griffith, but Miura confirmed Berserk will have a happy ending for both Guts and Casca, so it's probably just a red herring

I have a theory that Rickert was able to hurt Griffith because he slapped him not out of hate but out of pity/sadness. Meanwhile Guts loses his shit at the sight of Griffith but his sword goes straight through him. Maybe if he wants a chance at taking Griffith down he'll need to learn to let go of his hate for good.

Reminder that Guts doesn't even know about Falconia, the Moonlight Boy being Griffith, Apostles being reborn after death, or the Godhand all being in the mortal world now. Only the reader knows that.

Presumably when Guts snaps out of his sadboy phase he'll get told some of this information from Rickert

The people that think Berserk will end with Guts and Griffith having some kind of final battle are outright ignoring what the story of Berserk is all about. It's main themes are the overcoming of trauma and fighting back against fate. It also has some of the most kino Checkov's Gun's and foreshadowing in any story ever.

Berserk will end with Casca looking after Guts after he goes blind from using the Berserker armour. Simple as. They already teased the ending in Chapter 72.

Rickert managed to slap Griffith because he's not part of Griffith's story. Skull Knight and Casca says something similar to Griffith being like an author writing his own story with the people around him akin to characters. A character can't harm the author.

Rickert doesn't subscribe to Griffith's bullshit, he was able to see through the nonsense and see's Griffith as a manipulator. Guts sees him as an enemy, so he can't harm him. The only way to harm an idea is to refute it or not subscribe to it.
