2005 doesn't seem like 20 years ago
2005 doesn't seem like 20 years ago
This show sucks now. Was it ever really funny?
look at those computers, feels like the 90s or something now
Idk but the internet on the late 2000s was a completely different universe than what it is today. Essentially everyone online was White with an occasional token Asian.
Even in movies and such, non white people felt like 1% of the entire world.
It was a White Man’s World.
Look how old everyone looks now
youtube.com
We need an internet 2.0 to get away from the third worlders for another 20 years
Yeah it feels like 15 years ago. Not a huge difference
In 2005 were were still using windowx XP
our middle school "tech class' was how to make databases in Microsoft Access and how to paste images into a Word Document
Only a few people had flip phones. The internet was only a place to check emails
the internet is a third world country now
Passage of time fags are gay. If you're 25 2005 you were 5 huge difference. If youre 40 you were 20 in 2005 which means the rest of your young life happened in that time. If you're 60 and you were 40 in 2005 and you don't have kids than yeah I can see that feeling like a blip but in my dad's case he had littluns running around 20 years ago and now he takes pics with his grandkids. Only time time "sped up" is during covid which was such an isolated era it felt bottled
No, that feels about right to me actually.
We’re in the end of history. People born after the iPhone shouldn’t even be considered human anymore honestly, they should be called post-human, and not as a positive thing.
Corporate aesthetic is very frozen in time
not ture. in 2005 most places still had cubicals and beige colored spaces.
Many corporate spaces now are no-wall cubicals, with free for all seating (no assigned desk, aka no personal images or anything that lets you express yourself), and the entire office is some shade of gray or black
For modern megacorps maybe but a small time medium sized company like Dunder would still be rocking the same feel and look
yfw those doodles on her arm are high schoolers with shitty tattoos that look like doodles now
2005 maybe feels dated, but 2010 to 2025 to the foreseeable future have been utterly stagnant and milquetoast in every facet of human existence.
The only exception being minor dystopian tech novelties.
The reason being that cultural acceleration ever increasing since the Renaissance has ground to halt, finally, and Western Civilization finally-and deservedly-engaged in its death spiral.
No Country For Old Men was 18 years ago
that cant be right. I just watched it in the cinema!
Zoomie.
Why do they look dysgenic
You're right, it feels like 100 years ago. It can't be understated how much iPhones changed the world.
4:3 flatscreen monitors
yeah that looks like 2005
Freaks! Mutations! I am a man! The last man...
flyover town
office desks are like 3 meters away from reception
do Americans actually do this?
They are like 15-16 and rural and have not been, since age 10, drip feed a combination of pornography, looksmaxxing moto, Tate brothers videos, and financial demoralization propaganda. They don’t KNOW yet.
the difference between that pic and the 90's is that in the 90's the monitors were still fat as fuck
Meds
No, it feels like the 2000s. But the 2000s feels like an eternity ago.
The entire set is a close copy of the British TV show.
I worked at an office in 2005 and none of them were this small or this open. All had cubicles and badge readers to access the different areas. And reception was outside, in the hall.
Nobody cares about this off brand shit
Just telling you want the US versionbset is based off of. Nothing more, faggot.
The internet was only a place to check emails
what the fuck are you on about?
in 2005 there was ICQ, mIRC, forums and other websites, people were communicating over the internet a lot
Zoomie.
The internet was only a place to check emails
I was on Anon Babble in 2005
Panty shot
Whatever homo over here we only love The US version.
Only time time "sped up" is during covid
lmao time stopped during covid
it was march 2020 for nearly 3 years
never funny
basically the birth of reddit humor
It did cringe comedy right, which is rather unexpected for a normie show.
idk a remember a time before Anon Babbletards discovered the internet/Anon Babble as an outlet for their retardation
it was a better time
believe it or not, a lot of offices still use those computers (and windows XP)
Anon Babble died thanks to 2007-era newfags forcing it into the mainstream. Thank Project Chanology for killing Anon Babble.
I was 3 years old in 2005.
a big part of how we perceive time is how much culture changes between decades, but culture died in the early 2010s so it there's a part of us that feels like time is no longer moving
The Mayans were right after all
That's depressing.
the state of the world its so absurd that nothings feel real anymore.
no wonder why normies are losing their heads and becoming more like weirdos.
That episode is from 2011.
At first you want to trash the US version for using good looking hollywood types to play these everyman characters but they didn't. That really is the difference between the average brit vs american
One chick in that office full of dudes, she definitely was getting railed by at least 4 or 5 guys in that place.
Re read that and hang your head
The 2000s was literally a lifetime ago
Yeah 2005 feels like 20 years because I was 9, but 2015 feels like 3
The internet was only a place to check emails
uh did you forget about Neopets, geocities shit, newgrounds etc The internet was definitely not what it was today, but it wasn't simply a storage area for your mails either, even if you were just a normalfag.
I'll hang your head you lummox
watching the Office now is like binging a show from 1980 in 2000
yeah in smaller companies you're lucky if your office looks as good as Dunder Mifflin, one place I interned in looked more like Michael's company lmao (except we were in a basement).
I don't like desksharing much more though, everyone just clumps together with their department and you're really just sharing desks with people you work directly with who aren't above you (true bosses get an office)
Everyone was a nerd on the internet
Alas, it was I who misread all along
not watching the indian Office
Saar...
i remember clearing out hard drive space so i could download 2 minute long pixelated movie and video game trailers overnight
2005
not googling big boobs on the family pc and deleting the history afterwards
DJT coming down the stairs was almost 10 years ago
to think I'd miss the illusion of privacy cubicles provided
sometimes I imagine going back in 2001 but this time Al Gore wins, he somehow decides to stop China and thirdies from growing their countries, he also completely destroys the middle-east, then Steve Jobs never gets to Apple and smartphones never get that smart, a girl is killed by some internet autist and social media never happens, 2008 crisis is solved by letting the banks fail.
I wanna live in that world but I also don't want to be alone, I want someone from this world to share and remember with me how shitty this world is.
Sorry for sharing my daydreaming fantasy.
Everyone was doing that in the 00s though, public TV only had re-runs of 80s and early 90s shit, 80s action movies were still very popular and people were excited to start getting them on DVD
Had a kid in my class that would look up penises.
All the computers were facing inwards and you could even hear the teacher complaining about it before she stopped him. Weird times
That's because culture overall stagnated.
As evidence by the huge letdown Obama was for everyone, Al Gore would have been just the same as Bush. The only difference between the two parties is which pozzed NGO they're going to waste our tax money on.
Klosterman’s theory is that the internet has caused culture to be extremely wide and shallow, as opposed to narrow and deep pre-digital era.
I remember when skit stuff like Ask A Ninja was labelled as a podcast lol, I had every episode of that silly shit on my iPod.
When I bought my first PC, the vendor laughed when I asked if I should consider getting more than half a gig of RAM, dude said I'd never ever need more than that lol.
5th grade
friend and i would go to computer lab alone
he would search boobs in google search
just sat there looking at boobs
I thought we were messed up until I see what zoomers are watching on their phones.
I have underwear older than you
Digital photography and the internet has crystalized recorded history.
I just want China to be stopped, I want to live in a world ruled by white people as everyone else is poor.
Now that I think about it, the perfect thing would be living in a reality where the US finds out Putin was truly behind 9/11, so we can get rid of any globalism and go back to cold war shit
What are zoomers watching on their phones?
in 2003 my Dad found ''clown porn'' on our family PC search history. It wasn't me and my brother was 5, my mom didn't know how to turn the PC on let alone search for shit. I still wonder who the fuck was searching for clown porn, maybe some kid we had over one day I guess. Anyway I got a good scolding because no one would believe it wasn't me. Clown porn is so fucking retarded.
Ukraine combat vids, the 13 year olds my roommate teaches guitar to are constantly watching that shit.
i like
Outside of an outright war you're not stopping a country of 1.5 billion people with a few foreign policy changes. Best thing to do is let China run it's course. They are already in the middle income trap. Companies are moving away from China for cheap manufacturing but China isn't skilled enough for high end stuff.
tfw i clicked on every and any link that promised titties
No one could figure out why our computer had mega AIDS.
Peak internet was when it was like 80% coastal American city slickers because ruralfags still had dial-up.
it's my alternative reality, we got the cold war 2 in the early 00s now. Do you wanna come or you wanna stay here?
i wonder if in 2005 some guy said 1985 didn't seem like 20 years ago
That stuff? That's nothing.
Have you ever been to Anon Babble?
China isn't skilled enough for high end stuff
Where do you think your phone was made, retard? Arkansas?
Lol. Emails used to be hosted in house, as in companies and institutions used to have their own email servers. You don't need to go on the internet to access it. Then Hotmail came around and changed things forever.
It was comfy.
That very LOST episode aired 18 years ago as well
Tyler? I'm sorry dawg
I'm still not used to people starring down at their phones in public all the time, it looks so weird and wrong. I guess this how all the literal boomers viewed kids like me who spend half the day on their PCs in the 2000s.
kek, imagine if Trump came out as a secret juggalo and started blasting ICP as an ENTER music for every press conference. Instant 3rd term!
late 2005 was when things started to change again and the new stuff appearing
then 2007 was the culmination of it all and by 2008 it was the new period
man this was probably an easy paycheck for the cast but it's still sad to see them doing this
not entirely
youtube was all over already and so was facebook and social media
it was the new era already
I want to be happy for these people but this made me intensely sad
Eh, I find them more terrifing that the rotten or ogrish stuff I watched as a teen. At least with that stuff you'd chuckle and think about how fucked up the person doing it is, but with the Ukraine stuff it's just drones blasting humans into bits, it's just depressing to watch. The kids seem to laugh it off though so I'm thinking it's just seeing this shit with adult eyes instead of giggling at the violence.
I haven't really been to Anon Babble since like 2012, but a quick glance just now showed mostly porn.
Not having your own desk fucking sucks. I want to keep my hand sanitizer and tissues and mug, I use coasters to keep it nice (other desks all have coffee rings) and lots of other little stuff that doesn’t come up much but makes it terrible.
For example I kept paper towels in my desk at old office, it open happens super rarely but now if I spill something so have nothing to clean it up unless I carry it in everyday. It’s fucking shot and stop pretending not havi bf your own space is okay
Staring at the phone is no different from staring at your book imo, what really bothers me is people just taking their phone out in a middle of a group hang or conversation and start zoning out. If you did that with a book people would think you were weird as fuck, but with a phone it's fine
2005
I was a sophomore in college
Met a cute petite redhead girl in one of my classes
Eventually started dating
Moved in together in an apartment off campus
Graduation time
She wanted to get married and I wanted to have fun
Split up
Moved to LA
20 years later
Stuck in shitty jobs while dating terrible women before half a rent is better than a full rent
Look her up
She's married with kids to kinda successful guy and they live in the suburbs
It lost most of its humor on the 9th rewatch
why?
It’s not fine, people still find it extremely off putting
Anon Babble is 90% reposts of the most vanilla porn. But then every once in a while I'm in the mood for a quick still image fap and I go there and find interesting threads instead. Odd.
Yeah, all those people staring at their books in public.
Clown porn is based and patrician
I can't get over selfies. I remember when people first started doing them it came off a narcissistic but since then views have changed. I still see them as vain and stupid.
Essentially everyone online was White
Everyone was Urban White, you mean, the internet went downhill when rural retards started getting on Facebook.
I agree. Large "aggregation sites" like youtube, deviantart, 9gag, reddit, and so on already existed in the late 2000s, which almost completely killed off personal homepages and smaller hosting sites already by that time.
look at those computers, feels like the 90s or something now
The switch from CRT to LCD happened somewhere around 2005.
So, in the 90s those monitors would've been CRT and taken up half the volume of that room.
In the big company I mentioned, the departments that handled a lot of paperwork like HR or Legal, or that needed dedicated space for physical shit like Logistics or IT, didn't do desksharing.
The rest of us had little personal lockers to put our shit in, a lot of people would put mugs or whatever but this one girl in marketing had hers all decorated like a high school locker, it was adorably silly lol, she even had her boyfriend's picture in a heart frame and everything. Anyways I think the locker solved most logistics issues people had but you're very right in saying some sense of personal comfort was permanently discarded along the way.
Now I work in IT and anyone's office is my office if I say so as in I come in to fix your issue and you need to get out of my way, my actual office is dogshit but I'm never in it so I don't care at least I'm not answering phones
yeah shit was shitty around 2020 but we got Trump back so things have been leveling out a bit and normalcy has returned after the progressive era bled into everything
Amit put stapler in cow manure
JAGDEEP! JAGDEEP!
dude, I take the train every morning to get to work, half of the people in there are reading some detective or romance book. Books still exist anon...
Do they? Maybe it's a work setting thing then, the people I see doing this are mostly people I met at work and this is in the context of like an after work drink or weekend activity. Maybe they're just desperate to gtfo out.
What's your name? Garth? Shadow?
gay prolapse anal scat
difficult to watch, I'm tired of seeing people from back then old now.
Least that bodybuilder guy didn't get pozzed lmao
clearly you were not the marrying type
major ball drop
I thought that was what Anon Babble was for, I know some people who only go there when they use Anon Babble lol
There is also that one hand to hand fight between the Asian and the Slav. That was absolutely terrifing.
How is that stuff really any different from the cartels executing people or motorcyclists getting shot and bleeding out like the early days of Anon Babble?
And yeah I did mean to say the early days.
The only interesting topics gotta come from you now.
kek, I can't remember what his name was but I liked the actor in New Girl as well, he plays inoffensive dweeb perfectly
I find it off putting, you seem to find it off putting. Look at other people’s faces when the first person whips out their phone. They look like they find it off putting (before whipping their own phones out because why the fuck not at that point?)
Similar story happened to me anon. All we can do is move on.
of course it was. technology, politics, culture etc were a lot different in 2005 than now.
So things like bottle man?
meet girl in early college
mexican alexandria dadarrio with bigger, bronze tits
always made jokes about being pregnante and getting impregnated
me, jobless, no car
lost her to a guy who was smaller/uglier than me but wasn't practically a neet
has 4 kids now, on pair twins
imagine her prime breeding material enough to have that
me still neet
the one thing I have going right in my life is I met the woman of my dreams when I was 19 and I did everything in my power to keep her and now we're 11 years later and she talks like she could never imagine being without me and any casual though of her makes me feel immense love for her. Thats all I did right otherwise I have no career prospects whatsoever but I handled my romantic life well
nice b8
The first large scale commercially successful MMO had been out for 6 years in 2005
It was pretty kick ass to until they World of Warcrafted it when that gay shit came out in 2004
wtf who the fuck trooned out? cornered up to the bar next to black guy
2 days ago was it's 20th anniversary of airing the pilot
The British one started in 2001
The only interesting topics gotta come from you now.
This is true on every board though, there's like one good thread for every 9 reposts and 'traditional for the board threads', which is fine I guess.
But yeah there's surprsingly little gore on there now, weird. Infoposting is dead also, there used to always be a few threads with people posting collages of useful links or resources, DIY guides and infocharts, that was most of the reason I went to Anon Babble way back.
I have no idea what that Asian Slav fight is but I'm very interested. I find that now anything with RL violence in it is much harder to watch for me because I've now experienced RL injuries and hardships so it's much more real in my mind. But I still like it haha.
Ruralfag here, I had cable internet in 1997.
Yes most of the funding for wokeshit has been killed off and the DNC is also really short on money.
You're probably right anon, I'll try and pay attention to the people around me next time. I definitely find it off putting, if you just want to browse shit why not just stay home? I just don't get whipping your phone out in social situations if you're not checking some specific info or answering someone.
I've seen Usenet posts from the 90s-2000s and you would be mistaken if you think there were no Stormfags back then.
eh I balance those bad thoughts out with my other exgf who has three kids and three marriages. Win some, lose some.
The Corporate Bank office i worked in had cubical that were super wide but the depth not so much (making them less claustrophobic) and you had to work your way up to the open seating that is common for everyone today. That used to be a privy area but also where jr management had to communicate easier to one another. so it served a purpose. some people need to be isolated such as programmers and data entry nubs.
It’s usually one selfish self-absorbed cunt that sets off a selfish self-absorbed cunt cascade
ha ha no 2005 was peak Bush/War on Terror/bling rap/reality TV era it had nothing in common with today
She was Kevin's love interest in a few episodes
Project 1999.
we remember
lose XP when you die
This outraged 10 yo me. How dare they take away the rewards of half a day's rat killing! Honestly WoW was just easier to get into even if Everquest community features were superior.
The difference is some idiot decided to connect Africa and India to the internet. So now it's just a shithole full of scammers. IP-range banning India would cut down the amount of scamming done against the elderly in the US by like 90%.
2005 doesn't seem like 20 years ago
Outside of more social media and slightly faster internet, not much amhas changed.
In fact things have gotten worse imo. Smartphones have made things too easy for people
most unrealistic part is the cable management is so neat
in real offices there's cables all over the place. no matter how good the IT guys are, fucking phyllis or whoever is just gonna pull the wires everywhere
Outside of more social media and slightly faster internet, not much amhas changed.
ha ha no 2005 was peak Bush/War on Terror/bling rap/reality TV era it had nothing in common with today
the duality of man
Only 30% of Indians are connected to the internet so it's about to get a lot worse. Today I have scroll for a couple minutes on my youtube shorts to find something that isn't jeet AI slop.
I want an awesome blossom so bad now
Boomers i was born 1998. How was the internet in the late 90s/ 2000 era? What website you guys use ? Before youtube, deviantart, pinterest, liveleak, miniclip,shockwave.com etc. was there any websites that you could upload videos before youtube ? Besides newgrounds
Kinda weird
It's annoying because there are dedicated porn boards that move at a snail's pace. I would never suggest banning anything from Anon Babble but it would be nice if retards would use those boards to keep them moving and leave room for actual random content on Anon Babble
people in there are reading some detective or romance book. Books still exist anon...
men reading noire detectives for the search of the truth in a corrupt society
women reading practically erotic romance novels just for titillation
Men win again!
Well I used to visit newgrounds, funny part, funny junk, ebaumsworld, and youtube in those days. Slower than shit but still did it.
a lot of offices ran the wires through the desk so you'd only get access to the end of the wires.
Anybody who says it wasn't funny didn't actually watch it (at least the first 3 seasons)
lmao no anon, detective and police books are mostly women in my experience. Men I see reading in the train are mostly reading non-fiction or fantasy. My mom has read more detective shit than anyone I know of.
Message boards were great
If I see a photo from 2005 I know it's 2005 since the clothing, hairstyles, even the general look of the photography clearly looks like that time and not anything recent.
the closest thing I remember to social media was having some dude's RSS feed telling you about something he wrote on his website.
this is a big part of it imho
I find it charming in a weird way how into crime dramas women are. It's an easy thing to get them talking about actually. If you know any trivia about any criminal case they will be captivated by it.
I mean, over quality is down everywhere.
I end up lurking a shit thread and get lucky when I change the subject.
I am looking for that video now.
characters say fag and retard
blackface joke
tranny jokes
Seething zoomer because time stopped moving in the 2010s and he has no culture, no moments, and nothing to look forward to. Your present and future is nostalgia for things you weren't even alive for lmao
Literally millions upon millions of popups. Adblock is a godsend
Videos were usually uploaded to smaller filehosting sites that catered to one exclusive topic or personal pages, but you had to download them to your own PC in order to watch them because streaming videos was too ressource intensive. There were larger, more general filehosting sites like fileplanet, but those were the exception.
There was a sharehoster website that exclusively hosted clan videos and skill movies for CS and TFC, including comment section and rating system, that I checked on every day in the very early 2000s, but I don't remember the name.
why was the media so obsessed with this ugly slut for like a year? you thought Gabby Petito was bad.
i was on usenet '96 onwards. in fact usenet and it's conditioning to more or less unmoderated forums is why im here
Really? I find it disgusting how turned-on women get by serial killers, and how they vote and do everything in their power to ensure crime skyrockets for their entertainment.
yeah I don't know what it is with true crime and women, it's the equivalent of boat movies and men. I like true crime but most cases are very ordinary stuff.
Usenet was also 10x more psychotic than anything here, Anon Babble is tame compared to the political groups on there. Religion threads here are civil compared to alt.atheism.
Anecdotal I know but here’s a story
have to kill time in a little buttuck town for reasons
find a used book store, it’s big and smells bad. I dig it
more than half is trashy romance novels
I’m poking around in the back and some guy comes in, asks the owner for some specific trashy romance author I’ve never heard of for his wife
”I fucking hate books” the guy says to the owner
I’m hiding in the stacks trying not to die laughing
Thanks for reading my blog
ty anon, it sounds interesting.
Yeah I agree, but I still have interesting conversations sometimes on the boards I regularly post on. Sometimes I'll talk to an anon and realise it's the same guy I talked to months ago though so it's probably just a few people actually engaging and not endlessly posting the same shit.
unmoderated newsgroups are unmoderated
I've never been on Usenet but aren't they much more isolated spaces than here? Like you'd have to make more of an effort than simply punching in the url and immediately getting access. That would explain it for me, I mean even reddit had some stuff that wouldn't fly anymore before it got massively popular and the people in charge worried about losing money.
kek I worked in a library in college and stories about weird people were pretty much all we talked about at work. Like there was this one guy who'd always come to the same spot, get the same books and just zone out on his laptop watching porn all day, pack his shit up and do the same the next day. All fucking year.
We have 'book-trees' in my country (no idea what they're called in English) where people can drop off their used books. Most of them are stuffed full with cheap 60s romance novels lol.
is it still worth going there today?
this sounds familiar, was it keygen music?
Why do they all look dysgenic?
like i mean psychos posting rants about how Bush should be assassinated/tried in the Hague for war crimes. that was what was there. also trolls posting walls of text like "KILL JEWS" 50x. there was a famous troll on the video game groups named Charles Doane who by his own admission lived in some shack or trailer and did nothing but play video games all day in between posting rants about killing software pirates and burying them in the woods next to the remains of his ex-wives and door-to-door salesmen.
Define "cable." Two tin cans and a string?
haha yeah
i beat you
so why the fuck was she included in the ad?
The first online posts I ever made were to alt.tv.simpsons when I was 14. They were horrifically bad and I don't want to ever see them again.
January 2020 feels like last month
Was actually over half a decade ago
We're closer to January 2030 than we are to January 2020
tfw the first online posts I made were to an Aliens fan page
they're so cringe I can't even bring myself to mention them anonymously 25 years later
covid killed us all, we're in purgatory
I dunno, I wrote a few Simpsons fanfics when I was 15 and would rather not ever see those again either.
Simpsons
fanfics
wut
It's not the same and even on the weekends there's hardly anyone on anymore
lose XP when you die
This is what kept one of my kind of retarded friends from ever making it past about lvl 20. Now they've dumbed games down so much that kids, retards, and women can easily beat every AAA game that comes out.
That kind of gatekeeping quality control no longer exists in any major release. You no longer had to be competent to make max lvl and do end game shit
Combine that with third world in game currency and resource farming and the MMO genre is ded now
Every artist had their own personal, uniquely designed homepage where they uploaded their stuff. I had a row of bookmarks that I went through from time to time. All the Japanese ones had ugly URLs like chingchong.freeweb.jp or wongdong.hatena.hosting.jp for some reason.
Also, watch this: youtube.com
Notice how, at 4:17, the guy looks at this own homepage. Everyone wanted their own geocities or tripod page back then. It was all the rage.

I honestly think it's more about feeling like they're in on gossip. Crime shows are largely about unraveling the inner lives of murderers and weirdos. It's very much gossip for an hour to a half our. All the little secrets and information the cops become privy to about these peoples' private lives. The cops share it, so it's kind of a parasocial gossip column for women. It fulfills their inner desire to be in on some drama, it feels like a secret to them. It's an easy way to get them talking. I don't actually think the murdering has much to do with the appeal, it's how the secrets and lies build up, then get revealed. If she doesn't like reality TV shows like Kardashianshit, or she doesn't have a lot of girlfriends, she'll be into crimeshit.
These days they are. Used to be the ISPs would have both a mail and news server, so you got access by default just by having an internet service. Around 2010-ish, maybe just before, they all shut those down so you had to go to gmail, etc if you wanted email, and subscribe to a usenet provider if you wanted usenet. It was never 100% anonymous, but now you need an account to a usenet provider to get in.
When I was like 13-14 I was posting regularly on a forum for a very, very popular show and there was a character introduced at the time who only dedicated fans of the multi-media franchise would know about. I changed the name of my account with all of my cringe posts to that character’s name, and that character has only become more and more popular over the years.
I refuse to go back to that forum and look at what I posted, hopefully that place just doesn’t exist anymore.
There used to be tons of hole-in-the-wall Simpsons R34 sites and some of the pics on there are ones I haven't seen in years they seem to have vanished. Used to be a well-known artist named CHR$(13) but can't find those pics anymore for the life of me.
it feels a lot longer
first posts online were reviews of Newgrounds shorts and games
wrote them like I was some critic deconstructing some arthouse film
Still cringe thinking back on it
Disconcerting fact.
That's not high end manufacturing.
Retard.
More than half the game reviews/walkthroughs on GameFAQs were written by literal 16 year olds.
So, like, you go in this dungeon and grind for a bit until you level up and you'll be ok.
is it still worth giving it a look in your opinion? I've been hearing about it since the early 00s but never really looked into it.
Probably not. Only those specifically seeking out the usenet experience make the effort to go there. So fringe types. If that's your thing, then maybe it's worth it. But if you wanted to just post, ask DIY questions, talk about movies or hobbies, I recon it would be very slow.
None of you dickheads have mentioned Mplayer or even normie Gamyspy? It was basically proto Steam and (((Discord))) you uncultured swine
You faggots really did miss out on the golden age on the interwebz
en.wikipedia.org
There's tons of stuff from small sites that vanished from the face of the earth without a warning. I want to kick myself for not archiving it at all back in the day.
We use this to get cheat codes
Thank you to whoever wrote the 120 page long Gamefaqs walkthrough for Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Printed that out in my school library and finally got 100 percent of djinn in 2005. What motivates men to such acts of generosity?
You guys don't use steam back in the day ? What wtf you boomers use before steam ? What about battlenet, gog, etc
I still go there daily for the poll, and the forums are still useful if you play niche Japanese games.
kek you fucking retard, good on her
Sorry, I was more of a PlanetQuake guy.
Those you just backed out of because you could tell the writer was a retard. Gamefaqs was old school real nerd autism. It was the dudes in their 20s anonymously cataloging everything in a game that you listened to.
It'd mostly be about lurking, I love finding niches of obscure information and discussion. I think I'll give it a look sometime soon, I was really into those usenet humor pics that used to circulate in the early 00s so I've always been curious.
For me, it was the beige gamewinners.com for cheats to my n64 games
Ok, where are the chips in your phone made, retard? Taiwan is essentially China btw. How about all the cool high tech drones? Or all the batteries for those electric cars everyone’s so hot and bothered over? I don’t like it any more than you do but they make a lot more shit than anybody else at this point and that’s a fact
Behold
What wtf you boomers use before steam
It was funny when I was younger and before I knew what reddit was or was exposed to any actual good shows. Watching it now, I hate that faggot Jim and the whore pam. Michael is the only redeemable part of the show
what the fuck is wrong with you people
if a girl ever showed interest in me, let alone a cute one, i would lock her down for life
Hopefully it's still busy enough you get something out of and not just 100% schizo posters or Anon Babble lite. But yeah, sometimes you have to dig deep for the gems, and moderated sites and signing up for a fucking id just to ask a random question like how to clean a drill bit or something is getting tiresome. I've been thinking of checking it out myself for that same reason, plus nostalgia. Used to make (what's today called) memes in Paint and upload them. Someone once came to the QuakeII group looking for cheat bots and some knucklehead gave him a virus that bricked his board. Good times.
No it didn't, the cast was written to be too relatable and given too much leeway. No one even reacts to anything like a normal person. Dwight would've been fired 400 times over. Jim and Michael as well. They're immunized to reality.
Steam didn't come out until Half Life 2 which was 2004 and Mplayer was out for years before then. It was also originally just for valve games and wasn't a huge game distributor like it is now
And of course I had a day 1 Steam account but I primarily use/used a different one I made a few years after that's only 19 years old
My steam accounts are both legal adults :(
Are you me?
In my case, I just knew illusion woulda shatter after the first date. Met this gorgeous jappa who thought I was cute but I knew my boring life of liking to stay home and watch movies + neet could not sustain a relationship
but China isn't skilled enough for high end stuff.
lmao you're in for a real nasty wake up.
QuakeII group looking for cheat bots and some knucklehead gave him a virus that bricked his board
kek this is the kind of shit I like.
Alright I found a few guides and it doesn't look like too much of a hassle so I'll give it a look this weekend probably. Ty for the motivation anon haha
no one mentioned SA yet
This is why Blowtax khs.
kek I think there were a few of us like this going from the reviews I remember reading. I left this particularly obnoxious one on the original Alfred Alfer video because I hadn't realized the artstyle was intentional lol. I'm still sad I can't remember the password to my newgrounds account.
My mom died in 2011 and it has since become the central landmark of my entire life, and the idea that 10+ years of stuff has happened since she died honestly makes me nauseous to think about.
You did it to yourself and now I get to laugh at you.
are you implying stormfags would supprt zion don?
Just try and project yourself back into that mindset
|>3/V15123, rofl, nobody’ll guess that
. I'm still sad I can't remember the password to my newgrounds account
put your email then do a password reset to make a new one
pre-2007 economy was good and you could plan the rest of your life
I've tried everything and anything anon, even went back into my old notepad files to see if I wrote it down anywhere. The problem is I used to go on newgrounds everyday so the password became one of those muscle memory things where you don't even think about what you're typing so if you don't do it for a while your body forgets. Anyways the recovery email is also an account I've lost the password to and has long since been purged so I think it's truly over. At least I can still browse through my account's favourites since those are public.
It's amazing you still remember usernames, but then again I still remember the famous people on the WoW server I used to go to daily. Like this guy Emustii who had managed to ninja the Illidan blades, steal the entire contents of his guild's bank, then made another account called Emustiii and stole another guild's bank lmao. A true legend, I still don't get why people trusted him a second time when his name was getting spamtrashed every day in general and trade chat.
If this show were made today, the workers would be mutts and half the office wouldn't speak english. america is a third world country now compared to 20 yrs ago
It's for women
Seriously, where the FUCK does the time go, bros?
That’s just how it goes it guess.
Mal’Ganis represent
I used to read so much lemons back in the day
and 1985 doesn't seem like 40 years ago to your parents
Semites
you were supposed to have kids
You first
about 15 years ago our family laptop got so pozzed it would just start playing mexican language radio over the speakers no sign of where it was coming from, I'm pretty sure nigerian scammers could watch us sleep thru the thing
I wfh so I have my own L-shaped desk with my work computer on one bend and my shitposting station on the other
I hate what the internet has become. It feels like it's full of legit psychos now
The nerds got pushed out by the normalfags and now the normalfags are being pushed out by the psychos
yeah, Seth, those people I don't know who live in the middle 80% of the country having their own Facebook pages has really ruined everything (retard)
