it's the BAD spider-man movie
years later, we now had the souless TASM and the horrid wombo-combo of Morbius-Madame Web-Kraven
Now it's actually seen as a decent film
funny how that works

>Now it's actually seen as a decent film
No it's not. Not only that, the first two are viewed as cringe as well. These movies have aged poorly.
Spider-Man 3 was never bad. Idiots who didn't understand evil Spidey's mannerisms were meant to be cringe (because Peter is a lame guy who doesn't really understand how to act cool) always focused in on that as their primary criticism, which is absurd.
new bad film actually makes old bad film good
brainlet take
It's easily the worst of the 3. Movies used to actually be good, these days everyone is just scrambling around trying to claim which movies are the least bad among trash.
What people hated about it is that Sam Raimi decided not to take Peter's black suit arc seriously, so we got "goofy campy wannabe bad boy Pete" instead of "actually scary losing control Pete." Add to that casting string bean Topher Grace as Eddie Brock and making Venom a scrawny fuck, plus the "Sandman killed Uncle Ben" thing that retroactively destroys Peter's core motivation, plus just jamming way too many villains all into a single movie... it's a fucking mess that missed the mark in so many ways. If you think the finger pointing scene is the only reason people disliked this movie, you're retarded.
It's streets ahead IN COMPARISON to TASM and the shitty MCU flicks.
(Personally I found TASM 1 to be decent and rate it higher than SM 3)
But when compared to part 1 and 2 it was terrible.
I find the retcon of Uncle Ben's killer to be more egregious than how poorly the black suit storyline was handled.
not to take Peter's black suit arc seriously
this too. I was a huge fan of the black suit story and was hyped to see it on the big screen. But was extremely disappointed with how it was handled.
Worse was Venom with fangs appearing on screen for less than 5 minutes.
It's way worse than the 2nd movie. They fucked up big deciding to have 3 villains the way they did.
Emo Peter was and always has been kino.
It's in the same tier as the Prequels where it's only seen as good relative to other films. It's still not good but it has its moments.
I never thought this movie was bad. I saw it in theatres when I was a kid and absolutely loved it. My only complaint was we didn’t get more Venom, but I still loved it. I never stopped loving this movie and I always thought the dancing was hilarious. Zoomers act like this movie was disliked by everyone in 2007 and everyone was appalled by the dancing, we didn’t and we weren’t you little dumb faggots. /THREAD
I saw it in theatres when I was a kid
Zoomers act like
If you were a kid in 2007, you ARE a zoomer.
I was 17 when SM3 came out and everyone was indeed extremely disappointed by the movie. There were some people who liked the campyness of Emo Peter, but everyone agreed the movie as a whole was a total mess.
I was an adult when Spider-Man 3 came out
Nigga you were old as fuck the movie wasn’t made for you lmfao. Let me guess, your old ads went to see endgame in theatres as well and you got online after and complained about the time travel lmfaoooo
Now it's actually seen as a decent film
No it's not. More bad things coming out doesn't make something bad better.
It's a bad movie.
IMDB 5-7/10 movies from the 2000's are now 7-9/10 movies, and vice versa. Standards have shifted. We really had it all.
No i don't watch new shit anymore really, i guess you might be fairly younger idk.
Anyway, i rewatched all 3 movies again recently, about last year or so, and surprisingly i enjoyed it better this time around, it was a little different from the others two yeah, but again second movie was rather different from the first as well, either way, the comedy grotesque shit is actually alright, it's rather fun, i kinda asked myself how i didn't enjoy it the same way back then.
I guess nostalgia and different life standards change prospective or something idk, anyway i do like all three.
>I was an adult when Spider-Man 3 came out
No, I was 17. A teenager, not an adult.
Nigga you were old as fuck the movie wasn’t made for you lmfao
I was 11 when the first movie came out, and in any case I actually came to appreciate the depth of SM1 and SM2 much more when I did get older and could actually relate to the kinds of things the characters were going through. When SM2 first came out, I considered it too boring because there was so much focus on Peter's personal life that I couldn't connect with at age 13 or whatever.
While it is the worst of the trilogy, I did always like it.
Nigga you aged out and those movies weren’t for you anymore lmfao 17 is an adult. If you can get charged as an adult by law, then yous an adult. Get your old ass off this board and go have kids or something grandpa
You have to be 18 or older to use this website.
NTA you're a nigger and SM3 sucks donkey balls.
those movies weren’t for you
PG 13 movies are by definotion targeted towards a young adult demographic.
17 years old in 2007
Nigga you 40 LMAOOOOO get the fuck outta this place for your own sake
Zoomers act like this movie was disliked by everyone in 2007
We genuinely had a mild reaction to it back then, at least i know me and my friend did.
Zoomers were born between 1996 and 2007
First you blame it on them being too young, now on being too old, make up your mind faggot lol.
That summer we had SpiderMan 3, Shrek 3, and Pirates 3. It felt like the peak. All were considered underwhelming, is there ever really a good 3rd movie? Seems like a cursed iteration.
17 + 18 = 40
I assumed all this niggerspeak was larping from a 13 year old, but maybe you really are an 18+ stupid nigger.
Zoomers were born between 1996 and 2007
Yes, making them 11 at the OLDEST in 2007. You know, KIDS. The vast majority of millennials were in high school and college in 2007.
He's b8ing but you're also dumb for engaging. Sorry oldfag anon, I too long for the good old days of actual sincere posts and discussion.
Bro you were a full on adult watching spider man 3 in 2007 and complaining about the plot while children and young teens all collectively loved that movie back in the day. I’m sorry you got Peter Pan syndrome. I’m sorry you’re 40 and still on this website. Your life sucks
You can't leave
Harry gets amnesia
retcon the robber that killed Uncle ben
space alien goo lands near Peter
the butler tells Harry the truth way too late
It's not good.
the butler tells Harry the truth way too late
It's actually funny going back and watching all the movies at once and seeing how everyone constantly cuts Harry out of the loop on literally everything. I'm surprised he didn't snap and become a villain sooner, honestly. Imagine how it would feel if all of your closest friends and family members were constantly sneaking around behind your back and hiding shit from you no matter how much you try to connect with them and learn the truth.
They were deleted scenes that made the Butler imaginary, but its way way worse to have it be a sincere revelation. Like no one just sits down and tells Harry the truth till his face is all fucked up and he nearly died multiple times?
Standards were higher back then.
The terrible pacing, bloated script, and lifeless robotic climax are the primary issues. Emo Peter is a highlight if anything.
Yeah, "Don't tell Harry" is practically everyone's catch phrase. I felt really bad for him on rewatching all the movies back to back.
People were spoiled retards then. Now they can experience true shitty movies.
spider man 3 is pure kino.
They all came out within four weeks too iirc. The story going into the summer was that there was a battle between those three films and the story coming out of the year was that the third Bourne film was the winner.
No, I still prefer TASM over it. It's a shame what TASM did get right went completely unappreciated by people not familiar with the source material. Didn't help it simultaneously ended losing itself on Ultimate Spider-Man and original nonsense, but still.
Douchebag pete is the part everyone loves. It was hilarious and fun to meme about. It's the fact that no one remembers the rest of the movie that's the problem
TASM is pretty damn good, it just was too soon too reboot. Spider-man 3 was only 5 years ago. Audiences didnt want a whole new story. It worked for batman begins because batman and robin was so far from the burton batmans.
actually it's still seen as horrid dogshit you fucking retarded faggot
The first two have aged well because they are self-contained stories and don't try to be bigger than they are.
The symbiote Peter has serious moments where he thinks that he killed Sandman and acts like it's funny and he thinks he might have killed Harry. But it has some pretty weak points
3 enemies instead of focusing more on 2, Venom was forced in
Harry is nowhere to be seen for half of the movie in middle because he has amnesia
MJ getting captured for 3rd movie in the row is just silly, they somehow couldn't make up literally anything else
The Butler and Peter respect Norman's death wish to not tell Harry to extreme degree and only break it when everything is gone.
This movie was begging kicking and screaming to be split into 2 seperate films
spidey 3: parker finds out about sandman, wants revenge, acquires black suit in the meantime, learns that revenge bad great power yada yada, harry is a minor villain that parker teaches the same thing to conclude the film, abandons black suit
spidey 4: eddie gets the suit and gapes parkers hole the whole time in his quest for revenge, parker has to learn to rely on his friends hes made the past 3 movies instead of being the lone savior and doing everything himself. Can have a reformed sandman + harry team up finale
was probably more or less what raimi explicitly wanted, a shame sony is so fucking stupid
There's a joke in this movie where the camera follows her as she picks up a pipe and approaches Venom from behind as if she's going to have a girl power moment but then he casually flings her away. But it is crazy that they used her as the damsel again despite introducing a new woman to the cast in this film.
MJ's actor refused to scream for the third time and they basically recycle screams from first two movies and I think it's easy to hear if you listen for it.
Why? What's Mary Jane Watson gonna do to Venom, berate him?
