Black Phone 2

Who asked for this?

I mean, sure. Let's go full supernatural killer why not.

Why. The first one is a complete piece.

Is there any way he could still be alive?

Rooster was a great pick. Love that song

He's dead retard. The trailer literally confirms it. That's the whole point

Utterly pointless. Making him into Freddy purely to turn a one-off ok movie into an ongoing series is stupid.

You say that like the supernatural wasn't a big part of the first movie too.

They better play 2 Phones by Kevin Gates at some point

what's with the terrible bitrate on movie trailers on youtube? video game trailers are ok, but movie trailers look like they're from 2008

Jesus, what the fuck? I mean what the FUCK?

Yeaaaaaah they've to snuff the Rooster

No, he's dead. But the first movie had ghosts that affected the living world so why stay that way?

Yeeeeeeah they've come to snuff the roosterrr

Hey man, at least it wasn't a slowed-down version.

This was one of the worst horror movie I have ever seen, how in the flying fuck is so popular? I don't get it.

I'm totally on board for any AIC

I thought they were making something like the first one with different casts. Didn't expect the actual sequel with the same casts.

This the type of dude who sits there with arms crossed and a big frown the entire movie and wonders why he didn't like it. "I gave it a chance!" Yeah okay buddy.

It's a game changer if you're young and dumb.

No? That may be how you interpreted my post.

Kino.

It was inevitable. The moment he died, I knew there was gonna be a sequel where Ethan Hawke goes full Freddy on his ass. If good ghosts exist, then bad ones do too.

i just watched the first one.
one of the worst movies i've ever seen.

it was okay

of shit*

it looks lame

no it's legitimately a terrible movie.
i can only imagine how low IQ you are.

So soon after the first? Was it a smash hit or something?

kill youself shill

alright dude get a grip

So soon after the first?

It's been 4 years.

it was 4 years ago.
and it was a "surprise hit".
probably because there were few theatrical releases at the time and the movie appeals to hick retards who were probably quick to spite the covid restrictions.

Not liking things isn't a substitute for a personality, lil bro.

Budget: $16 million

Box Office: $161.4 million

Man this dudes career went to shit after Marvel sacked him from Doctor Strange 2.

no.
shut up ethan.

YOU KNOW HE AIN'T GONNA DIE!

So hes Freddy Kruger now?

and ill be honest with you, i wanted to like it.
i liked the title sequence and i liked the idea of the intro sequence with the quick tone-switch that leads into the titles. but even that could have been done etter.
huge problem with the movie is that the villain felt undeveloped and the supernatural shit eliminated all sense of threat. also the way his little set up un-does the villain was one of the most simplistic things i could imagine. a lot of unnecessary weird shit in general like the brother across the street. it was confusing but stupid at the same time.

maybe it's a war between good ghosts and bad ghosts

absolute dog shit ending too.
so corny. with the girl. "you can call me finn" or whatever. jesus christ what the fuck.

I just read a book from the director. Was clearly an adaptation of a left over screenplay. It was so bad.

apparently he was processing childhood trauma. that's what i read. i dont want to dwell on that too much.

It's just a movie, anon.

it's decent if you see it as a low-budget netflix horror movie mainly made for teens

I can't wait for Black Phone 3 in space

blumhouse (formerally blum-israel) could have given that budget to poor suffering children or people like myself to make something half-decent.

based going full freddy

Neat.

I know a lot of people here don't like it, but it seems like it was popular among young people on Tiktok.

retards*

At least it was more enjoyable than Smile

smile was way better.

nah

4 years

Fuck you. :,(

Garbage. Wake me when Smile 3 trailer drops.
Yup.
Wrong. Kys.

it definitely was.
im not going to say it was all that good, but it wasnt a broken movie like this one was.

i probably won't watch it but im still happy carlyle made it big

Why does Anon Babble have such a hateboner for this film? Whenever it comes up in a thread 20 people spring out of nowhere, frothing at the mouth about how terrible it is. It's inoffensive horror, worst thing you can say about it is that it's unremarkable and that the mask is the only interesting thing about it

overhyped piece of ass

WALKIN TALL MACHINE GUN MAN
THEY SPIT ON ME IN MY HOMELAND

that's every thread about any movie is discussed here you moron. that's Anon Babble's MO.

no, it wasn't. smile was basically a mashup of some well-known horror movies like the ring but yet they made it boring and somewhat pretentious. that's so bad.

i dont really see how it was pretentious. black phone was pretentious and it wasnt even aiming high, it was that low. smile was just an effective slop film. i enjoyed it for what it was.

black phone is basically a teen movie. it has teen movie vibes almost entirely. smile was trying use some serious trauma kind of shit but that just makes it boring and generic ironically.

i dont know.
smile was a ridiculous concept which is what makes it fun.
child kidnapping shit is real and serious and the movie brings in all this bullshit supernatural shit (and things like the police taking it seriously) that really felt out of place.

Was it?

I think it's just one guy.

i just saw the film this morning.
but i am most of the hate in this thread.

See?

the first one is one of the worst horror movies I've seen

I loved the first movie!

literally how?

bro, shut the fuck up already

no.
hating this movie is my job today.
ill probably never post in one of these threads again after this because ill hope to just forget about it.

I might have misremembered but wasn’t the black phone guy not real in the first one? I thought the story was about the kid gaining confidence

no that would have been maybe actually interesting.
the movie is very shallow but loaded with meaningless supposedly meaningful shit.

no, the guy was real, the kid was helped by some ghosts to beat him in the end kek

I want it to be like that sequel to the Stephen Lang blind rapist movie. ie their ridiculous premise movie was an unexpected success so they now they bring the villain back as a good guy. Maybe he'll ask the dead kids for advice like Dexter

horror movies are cheap to make and their target demographic has short attention spans so it’s profitable for studios to pump out sequels as fast as they can

Of course he was real.

Anon you need to see a doctor

it's written by a former head writer at aint it cool news and all the talkbackers flood comments shittalking

That one rob zombie scene in the bathroom made the movie feel trashy ngl.
