Smile 3 is filming this year and releasing in 2026. The Smile Monster is basically the first real, actually good horror icon since Saw shook up the scene in 2004. What do you want to see in the movie? Can anyone beat the Smile Monster?
Smile 3 is filming this year and releasing in 2026. The Smile Monster is basically the first real...
Mikey Madison should starr as a lead
What do you want to see in the movie?
I want it to feel as fresh as 2 felt compared to 1, so a bold new plot and direction. I imagine one such concept would be an anthology of multiple people infected by the Smiler trying to go about it in different ways, or some kind of mass outbreak scenario (as set up by S2), or something fresh or crazy.
Can anyone beat the Smile Monster?
A total lunatic or psychopath that's completely unbothered by hallucinations and people killing themselves around him and just engages with all of it like it's entertainment.
yeah, as the monster
Wouldn't even need makeup. Hell, just remove the makeup and you're there.
Something like Psycho Pass. They set up a Smile task force and hunt down people showing symptoms. They then put them all in a secure compound where they can all go nuts together.
what House actor they are going to cast in this?
No.
The Winchesters or the whole cast of Supernatural make an appearance and kill the Smile monster.
How about a country wide Smile infection? Foreign countries noticed the phenomenon and they create a blockade and kill anyone trying to cross borders. Story is all about surviving in a country where you are not sure if a stranger is infected or not.
Don't forget M3gan and Art.
Snood should appear in it.
set it up like a Crank movie scenario where you have to constantly be high on hallucinogens to cope with the Smile virus
boy i sure am a jaded bitch
o no something awful
AHHHHH STOP SMILING
now im dead
What a franchise.
wish they would just make a movie about a psychopath getting infected, if that would even be possible.
unless everyone in the audience at the end of the second movie is under the curse i shall watch nothing!
Supernatural villains are often defeated by destroying their source.
I think Smile 3 will be about protagonists finding the source of the smile monster and destroying it. All of the people infected in Smile 2 will "sense" that the protagonists are trying to kill the monster. They will all converge on the protagonists to try and kill them.
tl;dr
Smile 3 will be a zombie movie I think. If it's done well, I'll enjoy it. If not, I won't.
I really hope they land a great lead for the role. It’s going to be really hard to beat the actress from 2
If they didn't want to be forgotten they shouldn't be so forgettable.
Work in industry and saw the script:
it's a 'zombie' style action film that follows Alfredo who was the only Skye fan not at the concert because he went to gaol for stalking
later we see him the looney bin under psychiatric evaluation where he is devastated by the news of her death
he is angry he wasn't there, because he feels he could have done something to save her
this changes him to a very serious motherfucker who is sick of taking shit
the other inmates start getting infected by the smile demon and start attacking him, but he manages to stop them
the city starts going crazy because more and more people are being infected by the smile demon, and in the confusion he escapes the psycho ward
because he's obsessed with Skye before during and after the events, and actually did break into her apartment in the last film, her memory of certain events erased by the smile demon, he has enough information and clues to figure out what happened
coupled with his spergery powers he's the only one to eventually realise that the smile demon killed his beloved Skye
he researches it and finds it source of power
goes on a journey through a 'smile zombie' infected cityscape
he takes revenge by fucking with it and almost killing it
he eventually has to sacrifice his life to save everyone else though, forcing the demon back into one person, himself
Alfredo was the hero we need
It's actually a really great script that loosely parallels Shakespeare's Henry IV, where Skye's death turns an irresponsible young man living with his parents into a responsible adult overnight. There are even some comic elements with another character in the psycho ward named 'Falstone' where they get up to some antics against the staff, revealing the underlying intellect of Alfredo and that he's not just the hapless incel stalker he seems on the surface.
By the end of the movie he's fully transformed into a Chad action-hero badass, and you see why they chose that actor in Smile 2.
If real, this could actually be pretty cool. How does the smile demon start infecting the other inmates?
How would you get an interesting movie out of that though
The only thing I can think of is the paranoia of people thinking they're cursed but in actuality it was just one person in the audience
Yeah, it actually reads pretty based. Like an incel redemption story.
one of the doctors is infected and brings it into the psych ward.
doctor starts giving it to patients one at a time during their one-on-one evaluations
Alfredo notices other patients acting weird and smiling, but he is in a nut-house after all, so is creeped out but not realising exactly what's going on
still kind of upbeat and fun until he hears of Skye's death and becomes despondent and motionless, (symbolic of a chrysalis for his coming transformation I think
sees his mate Falstone infected, smiling, and acting weird
gets dragged off to his own interview before they can fully interact
Alfredo manages to kill doctor during his 'evaluation' by the skin of his teeth, and that's when he first really realises he's really in the shit
tries to explain to other doctors and guards but of course they just think it's proof he's a violent psycho
So it hits all the points of the previous films with the paranoia and dread right at the start, but then goes full-metal zombie-like action.
Some cool little details too. Alfredo coincidentally gets medical treatment from doctors for his skin issues when he arrives, which take effect over the course of the film. So by the end he winds up looking like Ivan Carlo picrel. Also heard the dude was getting jacked for this film, and they planned it right from his casting in Smile 2. His shot to become an action star I guess.
Makes sense in retrospect, since even in Smile 2 he doesn't strike you as a typical noodle-armed nerd. He's just dressed down like when they put glasses on a hot chick and pretend she's ugly.
This actually sounds great. If this is what they're going with then it's a really cool way to ramp things up. Smile 1 was a bit drab and dull I thought but 2 really scaled things up and excelled at everything I thought was underwhelming about 1. I like the idea of ramping it up again and Alfredo as the protagonist is a cool and unexpected move.
The first movie was a passable creepypasta flick. Like something you'd see on Tubi. 2nd movie was painfully bad. Also extremely boring. Zoomer kino is so fucking bad.
omg the faggot dancers are SMILING at me aaaahhhhhhh I'm going insaaaaane!
What do you want to see in the new movie
A runtime between 75-90 minutes
No cringey shots of people smiling
Internal logic
Humour
Scares
Tits would be nice
The smile monster is not iconic lol. Not even close.
good horror icon
literally unbeatable
90% of the film is a hallucination
It's an absolutely shit monster and the film has zero stakes or reason to get invested in the MCs struggle.
just die
heart attack
40 seconds
Best new horror series since Saw.
Smile 2 was all good until
it was all a dream lol, you lose I win
Such a disappointing ending
masters
also i found it erotic when at the end she gets on her knees in front of the smile thing and lets it spread open her mouth
It went from mid to wet hot shit imo. The ending was insulting and made the rest of the movie retroactively a huge waste of time. Idgaf if you wanna fuck Skye Riley, this movie stinks.
One other detail that's interesting is they kind of power-down the smile demon with some thing about it's power being divided when it's inhabiting multiple people. This is basically how Alfredo is able to fight back at all, because the full demon in one person is obviously totally OP where it can just make you imagine anything or anyone it wants and manipulate you with no limits.
So while infecting everyone seemed like a good plan in Smile 2 it realises it kinda fucked up and made itself vulnerable.
It still can fuck with Alfredo's mind a bit though, and as a result we see a flashback to what actually happened in Skye's apartment, (not sure if that was actually shot at the time, probably not). It tries to make him think he hurt her, but he didn't. He really did love her - in his own parasocial way. He wasn't bad, he was just a little self-deluded, misguided, etc. Part of his arc is coming to realise that and how he freaked her out, but he never meant her any harm. The smile demon is trying to demoralise him by making him think he's loser, but he's a solid dude who just got dealt a bad hand early in life and was a little socially inept as a result. That's what makes it more tragic that he has to heroically sacrifice himself to the demon at the end.
You totally get turned around on the guy and what you thought he was - and probably was the kind of guy who could see and understand why Skye was sad on the inside, and could have made her happy. I don't think his dialogue in Smile 2 was coincidental. Turns out it was like pottery:
youtu.be
He never actually said anything wrong in retrospect, she just overreacted really due to how she perceived it.
God damn it. I actually love the idea but now I wish I hadn't read it.
It's all heckin mental health allegories.
1 is trauma
2 is addiction (trauma thereof)
3 will be mass psychosis
a psycho wouldnt beat it because ultimately the smile monster wants to kill you and psychos arent indifferent to being killed, only a buddhist monk could defeat it
What about them is forgettable? M3gan is getting a sequel and a spin-off and Terrifier movies have been becoming exponentially more popular.
If I wanted to be a mean shitposter I might bring up the fact the second Smile movie grossed less than the first but I like the franchise.
not my problem they set up the rules so follow them.. or else!
I don't know man. I guess it's really just down to personal taste. M3gan and the Terrifier clown are just decent character designs that aren't backed up by much in terms of the actual movies. M3gan is just that TikTok hallway dancing gif and nothing else. The Terrifier clown is just a character design that looks kind of good at a Halloween store and then sadism and over the top gore effects. M3gan's movie is mid. Terrifier clown's movies suck. Maybe they're iconic in the sense that they have some cachet with triple-post-post-ironic zoomers who can't tell up from down and benzo-loaded millennials. But the movies don't back it up. Smile 2 is a legitimate classic.
Hey that’s a cool shirt anon can i sign it?
No. And your acting skills suck.
Skye Riley should have won the Oscar instead of Anora.
Lmao what are you smoking. It's an It Follows ripoff and the monster really is the weakest part. The smiling is the root of it's success.
ALSO, The Nun and The Nun 2 crushed both Smiles at the box office. As just one example.
