The Mirror Universe actually looks like paradise compared to regular Trek universe. Would much rather live there.
Star trek is dead and the next generation killed it
Nonsense. You just have to ignore the franchise's bad decisions.
The franchise is no stronger to controversy.
This is before there were even any production stills from TNG made public and that's the equivalent of a clickbait headline.
You should really feel bad for posting it.

The new Spock
Never fails to crack me up.
im still furious. TNG and its consequences have been a disaster for trek kind.
He gooned so long and so deep he achieved total goonlightenment

You're not excited for this?

The new series I'm working on 'Starfleet Academy,' it has some great comedic moments. The young cadets and their energy. It's got a little bit of that 'Buffy' banter and fun where every week something insane is happening, and they're looking at each other and going, 'Is this happening?! Did you see what just happened down the hallway?! Oh, my God!' It's funny, and I enjoy that.
Can't we just get Trek that feels like Trek? Listen I'm not picky, I'll settle for any of the first 4.
Why do cardassian ships look so ass? They dont even follow thier aesthetic.
I got downvoted on plebbit severely for saying "I wish they'd give a new show to some of the old TNG writers"
I get it, funny haha, but seriosly, Rom as grand negas? Half of his character is that hes bad at busness and aint too bright street wise but has a heart of gold. And what we've seen is that the grand negas' whole point is to give financial advice. Even if the ferangi society has ben rotted by social programs under moggie's hand.
Only explaination I can think is that Moggie is trying to pull a "mother is trying to control an empire through her son" kind of deal.
I love how the old writers have either never been asked to come back, or they told Paramount to fuck off.
I just find a thread I like and post in it
I think Groumall types look cool. But you're right their aesthetic doesn't seem consistent. I like how the pylons on their stations are reminiscent of their neck ridges though
It's probably just the Hitler salute that appeals to you anon.
On to my third Voyager episode
It's alright I guess, is this one of those "It takes 3 seasons to get good" thing?
Yes, more than any other show in my opinion. You could even argue it doesn't really become consistent until season 4.
Of all of the series, voyager actually takes the least amount of time to ramp up, and actually has some decent episodes rather early on (as well as some stinkers throughout).
Why do you ask questions that you know the answers to will hurt you? Stop worrying so much and just lean back and enjoy the show. It's going to be okay.
The first great episode is in S2
Voyager gets good right about here
Season 2 is pretty underrated. There are a lot of good episodes and unlike a lot of people I thought the Kazon arc was interesting. I like the idea of Voyager becoming this unwitting power broker in the delta quadrant and a dangeroys mcguffin that various factions are competing to ally with or control. That kind of got swept aside in later seasons.

Voyager very rarely gets great, but you kind of develop stockholm syndrome with it.
I feel like it's really sinking in what I saw one anon say about DS9 about the guest stars. I mean, I really enjoy the main cast a lot. But the guest stars usually just stand out so much. There are so many good ones that just always hit and I'm actually excited and happy to see them again in an episode.
Becoming the chief financial advisor of a post-scarcity policy is a pretty good move since everyone in the Federation forgot how economics works because capitalism is icky.
It's a strong roster of recurring characters, mostly.
Recurring, that's what I meant. But there are still banger one-off performances like that fake Gul Darheel
80s bait newspaper
TNG took 2-3 maybe 4 seasons to get a good standing. And people kept watching, albeit in smaller numbers up til ENT. Meanwhile, JJ Verse has been around since 2009 and the same following is....where? Oh I know, there was no Arsenio Hall advertising to help. Well, they shouldve gone to Colbert or at least Conan.

kids show
I thought Lower Dreck and Prodigy was the kids show? Also I never watched Buffy the movie or tv show. Was it typical 90s gen x drivel?
What the fuck is going on with Riker's hair?
couldn't get a headshot of patrick stewart so they just used a screencap from dune

Lower Decks is a like a raunchier Futurama in terms of tone. Starfleet Academy looks to be more YA in regards of it's tone compared to Prodigy.
Joke's on you, I just started TOS for the first time, and I've got about 40 years worth of stuff to get through before it starts to get bad.
I've run out of new stuff that I want to watch, and I've watched all my favorite franchises crash and burn, so I'm getting into my to-do list now. I could probably easily spend the next decade just getting caught up on Trek, X-Men, and WWE if I wanted to.
Lower Decks is a like a raunchier Futurama in terms of tone.
It definitely has that Rick and Morty look to it as well. The character designs look straight up lifted from it.
In all fairness to the fans, 80s TV was overrun with legacy reboots of old shows that were usually bad and only lasted one or two years, so there was some precedent to be skeptical about a Star Trek sequel.
zoom zooms getting into star trek with TOS
absolutely based zommie
From what I've seen of it, it's somewhere in-between. It doesn't quite get as bad as Rick and Morty with it, but you can still feel it's DNA in the show.
I like how everyone gets named, but Lavar is just "The New Spock".
Indeed he was.
Stuff like this in Star Trek generally doesn't bother me but as I watch DS9 "they faked warp signature/faked the ship presence" seems to happen often and it always feels cheap to me.

Think of my liquor collection, anon.
If I took a drink every time a port nacelle was destroyed if I'd have nothing left!
