Reminder that this was a good change

Nooooo, it should be some random guy!

Cringe

What a well dressed mugger

not getting Christian Slater to play young Jack

mossed opportunity

It works for the movie just fine.
I don't think that should be batman's origin in the comics.

rhubarb

he wanted to blend in with the crowd

don't do it.

Smart

batman 89 is garbage. just because you grew up with it doesn’t mean it’s good. batman shouldn’t be played by a bald manlet who can’t move his neck and the joker isn’t a fat dipshit who becomes crazy for no reason after getting facial surgery. i would unironically rather watch adam west over this shit.

it wasn't actually him. Bruce just imagines it was him.

the music is really gay and retarded too. the theme song sounds like you’re walking into a tim burton goth carnival called “faggot retard land” and that’s the music playing in the background

Agreed.

Comicsfags are hideous incel trash and their opinions should ALWAYS be ignored.

steel in a man's stride

It's fine for the movie, but not other Batman stuff.
I can buy that Batman doesn't kill Joe Chill, low level criminal.
I can buy (barely) that Batman refuses to kill the Joker even though it's obviously the morally correct thing to do.
Put them together, nah. Batman just looks like a cucked moron at that point.

Idiot. He was already a psychopath and extremely vain. So after getting by his boss for fucking his woman and falls into a vat of chemicals and now looks like chuckles the clown, he loses it.

This. That's why him saying something weird to Bruce when he is killing the Wayne's works. He was nutty psycho did and was being restrained trying to work his way up in the mob.

I do like in Batman Begins when Bruce brings a gun to court to kill the guy that killed his parents though. I think a lot of people don't see this as being mirrored in The Dark Knight, when Dent is ready to do the same thing, and no one stops him, so he starts killing people he feels is responsible.

My problem with Harvey Dent's killing spree is that he could and should just have popped Joker but didn't because he for some reason fell for Joker's bullshit "well erm technically it wasn't my fault, you should go after Gorden even though he is by far the most decent person in this city". It's really silly and I don't get why nobody ever mentions how stupid it is.

Batman murders the OP pic Joker though. Not even impulsively like he kills Dent in TDK, he just straight up shows up and tells Joker "I'm going to kill you" and then he fucking kills him

I like how this movie starts with Bruce already being Batman, and then his backstory gets revealed over the course of the movie

Dude why didn't Two-Face kill the Joker when the coin said to spare him lmao

Based retard

maybe he was a Jason Bateman type and got off on it

Agreed, that's a good way to go. It's a shame the few other capeshit movies to do something similar sucked ass.

Yeah it's really nice when you understand the concept and it can just get into it

But it should be a random guy. Gotham is the disease Batman is trying to purge, the villains are different symptoms. That a regular Joe is the one who kills his parents and not the Joker himself lends more credibility to his point that the city is sick with crime and corruption. Nowhere is safe and killers are everywhere

he's a small time gangster associate at this point. Him and Bob imitate the well-dress big time gangsters who are themselves trying to fit in with the middle-to-upper class by dressing up.

Except it still works because despite Batman's best efforts, Jack and the mob has flown under the radar for years

if you really want to make The Funny Man, Batman's 6 fingered/one armed man you DONT kill him fucking off in the first movie you fuckwit

Its not even a good movie

Yeah but why tf does he even have to bother with the coin toss? Every cell in that man's body should have wanted to shoot Joker. Yeah I know Two Face does the coin toss thing in le comics but for this specific version of him in this specific movie it just came out of nowhere. It makes sense for the versions where he has a literal split personality, but this Dent was just a regular guy really. He wants revenge for his gf getting murdered and boom the killer just shows up and gives him a gun and goes "lololol akshually you can't shoot me". The Dent they wrote for that movie would just have lit Joker tf up, the only reason he doesn't is because the script has to have him become Two Face, but it's not internally coherent

I watched adam west reruns when i was 4-6 and they are legit better than burton. Tas was the only good version of batman till bale

till bale

But Bale is easily the worst Batman besides Robert Pattinson

Checked. In the DCEU this joker got raped before the acid.

They definitely needed to do more to set his heel turn up. Maybe have him actually shoot polka dot man or something

The Joker giving Dent the gun and holding it to his own head is probably my favorite part of the character. If you look, he puts the gun in Dent's hand, points the gun against his head and holds it there, begging for Dent to shoot him. But the Joker is holding the hammer of the revolver. Even if Harvey pulled the trigger, nothing would happen. Mr. J had it all under his control.

Fatfleck<batpat<balebat<tas
Rest are shit

Back in 88/89 there was Stone Age internet. Batismos had to spam Warner Brothers the old fashioned way. Writing fucking letters and probably paying the extra postage for the extra weight of their 100 page manifestos

His finger is also behind the trigger, so not only is the hammer held down, the trigger can't be pulled. Joker really didn't want Harv to blow his head off.

The Joker didn't do those things to Dent and Rachel though. The city was a mad house and is full of corrupt people passing the buck to others. He felt he had a 50/50 chance just like Rachel. He was only alive cause Batman saved him. Dent believes in justice, but is consumed by revenge. He feels justified in every murder cause he is letting some people go. He works his way up to Gordon because he stops trusting in him, that Gordon lost nothing, and Dent lost everything, it feels so unfair. Gordon and Batman attempt to take the blame for putting Dent through it all, but Dent doesn't come to rational thought and agree, and still wants to hurt Gordon's family.

Shut the fuck up Gunn

You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya? Would ya?

The Joker didn't do those things to Dent and Rachel though

Oh please not this shit again

I'm fine with either.

Shittalking James Gunn is such a salty Snyderbro move that I honestly take that as a compliment. The man is about to save DC.

better than fatfleck and fagginson

He literally doesn't though. In that specific scenario. The joker is a murderer, we see him kill people, but he does not physically kidnap Rachel or Dent. Other people did it for him, and it could have ended the madness and given up when the joker was caught. The kidnappers could have said, you know, Joker is caught, lets let Dent and Rachel go. They all go along with it. It's why Dent goes after all these other people. Dent didn't care about being seen as the hero that shot the Joker, he could have done that and been that man, he cared more about revenge.

He needed tha money...

Okay he didn't need the money

Remember it was Joker's "plan all along!" to get captured to engineer his part in the scenario. Of course his lackies would stick to the script.

Batman ‘89 is very underrated when comes to comic book accuracy. It is extremely close to Golden Age Pre Robin Batman. Where Batman is this “boogey man”’who does kill people. Gordon is not his buddy but wants to throw him in jail. Joker was pretty much a thug that looked like a clown. Can carless if Joker is the one that kills the Wayne’s. Comic nerds are cool with Elsewhere stories that do the same kind of shit
