Back To The Future

How is it that no one associated with one of the most amazing films of all time, ever did anything worthwhile afterwards?

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this? Fuckin' Doc Hollywood or Teen Wolf? Fuck off.

Name a single good Christopher Lloyd role, other than this? Some Klingon in the shitty movies? Fuck off.

Name a single good movie to use Alan Silvestri's amazing musical talents? Flight of Navigator (a shitty movie that abruptly resolves itself shortly before the 90 minute mark). Fucking Mac and Me?

Name a single good Crispin Glover movie other than this?

Name a single good movie Bob Gale or Robert Zemeckis worked on that was half as good as this?

Nice try bozo

implying you need to work after you make one of the most cherished films ever, in the 80's, the capitalist height of American history

They WORK as actors, & don't have to impress anybody when they've hit multi-millionare status. That's the way of the world

alan sylvestri

Forrest Gump, the avengers theme

Name a single good movie Bob Gale or Robert Zemeckis worked on that was half as good as this?

How many of their movies have you even fucking heard of?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Gale#Selected_filmography
Zemeckis managed to have a better career, somehow, despite not being jewish. I've heard of more of these.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Zemeckis#Filmography

I remember the marketing for Christmas Carol, 15 years ago, and the marketing for Here last year, aggressively trying to remind the audience that it was made by "one of creators of Back To The Future" which is a fucking insanely weird thing to bring up, 30-60 years after the fact since BTTF has nothing in common with Christmas Carol or Here. It's almost like he has little else worth bragging about.

There would have been a delorean still hidden in the mine in the third film, so technically they would have had two deloreans. The hidden one would have still had parts and gasoline.

the avengers theme

lol lmao

I also like Spin City.

As a teenager, I discovered it on TiVo, because I was furiously hoping BTTF4 would show up eventually even if it was direct-to-tv.

My first Spin City episode was "Back To The Future IV: Judgement Day" featuring Christopher Lloyd who thinks he's Jesus.

Great show, but it's not a movie, bozo-kun.

This show was also my introduction to Charlie Sheen and I hated him for replacing Michael J Fox since I didn't know about the Parkinson's yet. I thought they just wanted to shove him out because he's the cool guy from Two and a Half Men.

Michael Jay was in The Frighteners you buffoon.

Its the only piece of identifiable original music from a decade of marvel capeshit.
And even if it is capeshit its a solid enough score on its own merits.

How about a good James Tolkan films?
It's weird how much he looks like the more successful Don S Davis and Donald Pleasance. Both of whom were military men, and also dead.

charlie sheen joins the show

characters name is Charlie

gets gig soon after on two and a half men

characters name is Charlie

Poetry

I hate rock and Marty but it was definitely inspired by bttf. The names matching up, both scientists in white lab coats. Time travel and pop culture references. The high pitched voice vs gravelly
Yup and regardless of how people view the Addams family films… there was universal agreement that Fester and Joan Allen were the best part.

Come on, I know it's edgy and epic to hate on capeshit, but there's no doubt that theme isn't pretty iconic.

characters name is [actor]

I always thought Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was an ongoing biopic with creative license. I didn't know it was actually based on the life story of some ghetto mexican dude who was raised among a rich white family.

we all made a lot of money

now we can relax and help our friends with their whatever projects

SUCH A WEIRD CURSED MYSTERY

nta, but I saw Avengers 1 in theaters when it came out, and it made me never want to watch capeshit again. (I watched pretty much everything up to this point, except Thor)

I have never seen Avengers 1 ever again, or any of the Avengers sequels.

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this? Fuckin' Doc Hollywood or Teen Wolf? Fuck off.

The Frighteners

Name a single good Christopher Lloyd role, other than this?

Clue

Name a single good Crispin Glover movie other than this?

Charlie's Angels

Name a single good movie Bob Gale or Robert Zemeckis worked on that was half as good as this?

Forest Gump

It's conspicuous because I can watch Taxi Driver, and look up the filmography of Robert DeNiro, and find a bunch of good shit.

I can watch Pulp Fiction and watch the filmography of Harvey Keitel and find a bunch of cool shit like Blue Collar, or Saturn 6, or really good, "Mother, Jugs, and Speed"

I can watch Reservoir Dogs, and look up Tim Roth, and find The Hit or criminally underrated "Captives." (great drama. terrible imdb score)

Just because they were as big doesnt mean they werent good.
I liked several of his 90s movies. Doc and Life with Mikey particularly

Forest Gump is overrated trash.

Sure. Now look up John Travolta. Back to the Future was lightning in a bottle

It isn't, you're just a ball licker who complains that an opinion that deviates from your NPC brain is "eDgY"

Now look up John Travolta

Will do.
can you name any James Tolkan kinos, though?

You’re intentionally missing the point and you know it. When you take Mt. Everest as your base case all the other mountains are smaller

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this?

The Frighteners

Name a single good Christopher Lloyd role, other than this?

Uncle Fester on the original Adams family movie, judge Doom in Who framed Roger Rabbit, The librarian in the page master.

I'm not intentionally missing the point. I thought Pulp Fiction was Mt Everest, and Tarintino and his actors made other Everests.

I wasn't trying to be a smug prick asking about James Tolkan, either. I never heard of The Frighteners, before this thread, and I thought he might be in something cool other than War Games and the He-Man movie.

I never heard of The Frighteners

You just got assigned homework then son.
Go watch it now!

Okay, I will.

I can't find Crispin Glover's experimental "What is It? (2005) anywhere on the internet, and I've checked all the usual and reliable suspects. I even tried yandex. Can anyone help me find that?

Fair enough. I think you get my point though: if you’re starting with a very high bar you can’t be terribly surprised when not everyone involved can beat or even meet it again

John Travolta was in Face Off.

Isn't Robert zumeckis galaxy quest?

Silvestri

THE FUCKING PREDATOR maybe?
Also Who Framed Roger Rabbit counts for a lot of these
But this is clearly bait

Why do you call it bait? It's a provocative post, but do you really doubt it reflects my true thoughts and opinions?

I just realized after this guy posted that you were telling me John Travolta didn't have much going for him, either.

I just assumed he was a great actor with a lot of good movies, when you said that.

The Fanatic was pretty good.

notable one hit wonder bob zemeckis. Lloyd looks so weird he's gonna be typecast and he's not gonna get another role as iconic as Doc Brown and the other guy got Parkinson's and can't act

The Frighteners

From BTTF, Doc Hollywood, and this, I'm noticing a theme of Michael J Fox crashing his car onto private property of small town farm people, and breaking their white fences.

That's kind of an oddly specific trope or motif to follow an actor, across a decade of film.

I remember a vietnam war movie with MJF where they gang rape some poongtang

I'm barely 10 minutes in. This woman has the magical perfect muscle man who's rationally steering her away from trouble, and remembering their anniversary better than she does, but we already have foreshadowing that their marriage is gonna fall apart, because she's bored of him, and at some point his prudence against danger will cross some arbitrary moral line for her.

I remember a vietnam war movie with MJF where they gang rape some poongtang

shit. let me know when/if you remember it.

Name a single good Christopher Lloyd role, other than this?

One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

Casualties of War (1989)

Never really thought about it but I guess you're right.
Find an example from teen wolf and you might be onto something.

A large part of BTTF's success was due to Fox & Lloyd's on-screen chemistry

Lloyd is just a fucking beast and MJF was young at the time. Fox got sick and wasn't even a good actor, just young and charismatic.

The Frighteners

posting incel shit while watching a movie

just kys

Christopher Lloyd

judge doom in who framed roger rabbit is one of the most iconic villains of all time, and anybody who saw the movie will remember him for the rest of their lives

He also has good parts in
Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead
Mr Nobody

That's my point, they're obviously rl bros enjoying working together that make the movies

light of day is a paul schrader feature with michael j fox. also joan jett and michael mckeane.

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this?

Frighteners. Are you retarded or just lack culture?

Name a single good Crispin Glover movie other than this?

Willard and Bartleby. Apparently youre retarded and lack culture

stuart little 2

tiktok buzzwords

You're on the wrong website, I'm afraid.

Mr Nobody

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Nobody_(film)
Doesn't list him as an actor.
I think you mean Nobody from a few years ago, starring Bob Odenkirk.
He looks like he's practically dead in that, and doesn't really add much to the film.

If they remade Back to the Future today, Doc would be traveling back to 1995.

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this?

Casualties of war

Frighteners. Are you retarded or just lack culture?

Was this movie produced by Indians? They couldn't spell 'psychic' correctly when it's what the whole movie is about.

The FBI guy says 'on Dana's corpse they found a 13 carved into HIS forehead'

How do you fuck up something so simple, and not either re-shoot it, or fix it in post. Was this movie insanely rushed?

Why the fuck do you schizos constantly ask yourself questions and continue to argue with yourself the whole post then decided to show your entire argument with everyone? You've already made your own arguments to yourself.

i know it's a hundred percent monkeypaw wish, but I really would like to see someone tackling those cultural differences in a non-hamfisted way,

Michael J Fox

Causalities of War by Brian De Palma.

Christopher Lloyd

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest directed by Milos Forman.

Crispin Glover

River's Edge?

When Marty goes back to new 1985 where his family is better, he still observes himself go back to 1985. Where does that Marty go?

i know it's a hundred percent monkeypaw wish, but I really would like to see someone tackling those cultural differences in a non-hamfisted way,

you and me both, buddy.
Except there's kind of no way to do it, without being a trashy DailyWire piece, where Marty is shocked people are using problematic language like retard and faggot. It would basically be a reverse Demolition Man (shitty overrated movie, imo)

Why the fuck do you schizos constantly ask yourself questions and continue to argue with yourself the whole post then decided to show your entire argument with everyone? You've already made your own arguments to yourself.

look. I just want to know if James Tolkan has been in anything worth watching other than He-Man and War Games.

It wouldn't be such a culture shock for someone from 2025 to end up in 1995, I don't think.
And yet it feels like more has changed in the last 30 years, than changed between 85 and 55.
Is it that BTTF exaggerated the difference?

Tiktok zoomies would struggle with having to learn to read to use a non-video based internet.

The line stuck in my head was always "AND HE TALKED JUST LIKE THIS!" With the pitch going up each word.

Unironically it was the 60s

Harold Bloom wrote a book where he gave himself credit for "inventing the 60's."

A lot of times actors are good at playing teenagers but struggle to transition into more adult roles as they age.

Yeah, The Secret of My Success was OK but Bright Lights, Big City was seriously bad

He would have went through roughly the same adventure as our Marty did, or else the timeline would have changed according to Back to the Future 2 rules. We also see him in the footage from the first film in the second film so it must have went roughly the same. Maybe the ripple effect just means that our Marty just needs to let time catch up to fully change his memories.

Frighteners

Mars Attacks

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Addams Family

Addams Family Values

And when he wakes up in better 1985, his bedroom's identical to ordinary 1985

"By the power invested in me, by the president, I order you to get the HELL out of here."

Has anyone else noticed how unusual it is to here the word "hell" as a swear word when people would rather say "fuck" in it's place, over the past 15 years or so?

Sort of like how Asshat went out of fashion around 2014.

Name a single good movie to use Alan Silvestri's amazing musical talents?

Predator

Sidekicks

Forrest Gump

Judge Dredd

Beowulf

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this?

He was in Spin City. Fox was always more of a TV star. But the Frighteners was kino.

Name a single good Christopher Lloyd role, other than this?

Who Framed Roger Rabbit. And Lloyd was middle aged by the time of BTTF and again he was also mostly known for tv.

Name a single good Crispin Glover movie other than this?

Learn your history, faggot. Crispin sued the producters of BTTF for using his likeness in part 2. He won and nobody wanted to cast him for a long time.

Name a single good movie Bob Gale or Robert Zemeckis worked on that was half as good as this?

Forrest Gump. And BTTF will always be their magnum opus. That's like saying "Gene Rodenberry did nothing as good as Star Trek".

I was a big BTTF fan as a kid and was excited to see other stuff by Fox so I rented this based on him being in it and was bored out of my mind.

He won and nobody wanted to cast him for a long time.

he should of sued again for discrimination then.

I know you'll hate this, but your opinion is in the minority. Regardless what me or you think of capeshit, the avengers theme is objectively iconic.

Lloyd was mostly known for tv

He was great in Taxi

nta but Danny Elfman's Avengers theme is better.

Look at him. He don't believe anymore.

Why would someone who's seen countless supernatural phenomenons stop believing in ghosts?

he should of sued again for discrimination then.

Yeah, suing again would really help his career.

Forrest Gump. And BTTF will always be their magnum opus. That's like saying "Gene Rodenberry did nothing as good as Star Trek".

What was Rodenberry's second best?

Forrest Gump. And BTTF will always be their magnum opus. That's like saying "Gene Rodenberry did nothing as good as Star Trek".

I don't think that's a fair comparison, because Star Trek is a franchise and a passion project he continued to work on for decades throughout his life. Back To The Future is a trilogy of films made within a 5 year span and 66% of what people like about the franchise wouldn't have existed unless the execs forced them to make it.

The FBI guy has hand tattoo's like Podesta, right before talking about how he spent 6 months as a sex slave.

How come no one mentioned this movie in the middle of Pizza Gate?

I don't think that's a fair comparison, because Star Trek is a franchise and a passion project he continued to work on for decades throughout his life.

Roddenberry was kicked to the curb by Paramount after Star Trek The Motion Pictures. Then after 2 seasons of TNG Paramount TV gave him the boot as well. Roddenberry tried other things, they just didn't click. There are youtube vids about his many failed post TOS TV pilots.

his career was already done since nobody would hire him out of retaliation so might as well get some more money and send the message that it's not ok to blacklist people because of a lawsuit.

Did the costume department even give R Lee Erney his clothes, or is he wearing the same clothes from Full Metal Jacket and Space Above and Beyond?

Is that his real uniform? I thought it was illegal to wear a real uniform in a movie.

Shows how little he had to do with Star Trek's success

Would you tell a Marine what he can & can't do?

What's wrong with Andromeda?

Shows how little he had to do with Star Trek's success

Wrong, retard. Roddenberry was a talented writer and a visionary, but how many of those ideas can one man have?

Watch it and find out

I watched a few episodes a few years ago, before life got in the way, and I lost my place.

What's supposed to have been bad about it?

>Frighteners

I knew a guy who said that his gf gave him permission to fuck her corpse if she happens to die before him.

Similar vibes.

Lol, lmao even

what about the day bow bow movie for mj fox

Name a single good Michael J Fox movie other than this?

Casualties of War is unironically his greatest performance, arguably Sean Penn's too.

This thread is a good example why when someone asks "name something I dare you" it's a waste of time to answer since nothing you say will be accepted

I was frozennn todaaaay!

Lol, lmao even

Ok faggot

created one of the most enduring media franchises of all time

in a genre that was and especially was at the time, filled with mediocre by the book garbage

Reminder to reject all of Satan's empty promises.

This thread got me watching The Frighteners.

I was frozen today!

The Frighteners.

Kino movie, but it needed a stronger ending.
And the CGI is so primitive that it looks more charming to today's slop.
