Can someone explain why Andor insists on making Star Wars look like some BBC crime drama set in space? Since when do we have red brick buildings in this universe? What happened to futuristic architecture, domes, chrome, whatever happened to visual imagination? Everything looks like it was shot in a parking lot behind a warehouse.
And why are we spending entire episodes watching characters sit around planning heists like it’s Ocean’s Eleven in slow motion? Star Wars has Jedi. Star Wars has lightsabers. You’re telling me nobody can just use a mind trick or slice through a few doors and be done with it? Why is everything suddenly grounded and “realistic”?
We’re watching humans talk about politics and oppression like it's supposed to be some serious commentary. That’s not what Star Wars is for. I don’t care how "well-written" the dialogue is, it’s just people standing in dim rooms having intense conversations, and not a single alien saying something stupid in a funny voice. No aliens, no creatures, barely any droids.
This isn’t what I came to Star Wars for. I came for epic space battles, over-the-top villains, goofy sidekicks, and stories that feel like Star Wars, not whatever dry, joyless drama this is trying to be. It’s like they’re ashamed of what the franchise actually is.
