If David Fincher had made Utopia for HBO as he planned, it was fully scripted by Gillian Flynn, and he was set to direct every episode, truly wonder how the plandemic would have played out in America. HBO denied him an extra $10 million, it was a $100m show for season 1, and they told him to fuck off, so the series trickled to Amazon where Flynn directed it and cast a bunch of DEI, then they dumped it because the plandemic was bubbling.
Fincher did an interview beforehand saying he believed in a lot of "conspiracies." All that work did a number on him, he also had a separate HBO series greenlit set in 1980s MTV video production companies. This lead him back to Netflix permanently, where he made Mank for his dead father and shrugged off finishing Mindhunter, then limped through The Killer, maybe the QT sequel fires him up again, but after that it's the US Squid Game.
Severe under-analyzed alternative political history because normies would have used the high profile first season to question the jab, WEF's Great Reset 2030 bullshit, and Big Pharma, in addition to the original UK series.
