Dredd was pretty great, but a sequel would undoubtedly ruin the first. The first movie did a very good job of creating a story with a beginning and end. While a sequel is possible, the odds of it actually adding anything of value is low.

How so? I said that the movie was good; but that I didn't think the interracial sex scene added anything to the film which I'd say is a common sentiment. Anon responded with some deflecting about how in the film it was the black dude's fantasy and didn't actually happen at which point I cut through the bullshit and asked why it was necessary to film a random fantasy.

I'm not super ass blasted about it or anything. I still recommend the film; but when I look back at the film which I haven't seen in many years I remember that the setting was great, that both Urban and the chick who played his partner were great in their roles and that the film had a pointless interracial sex scene which disrupted the plot. We all know why that scene is in there, I didn't even bother to point it out; but I'm not going to pretend they didn't do it again.
