What tv series or film best captures the early 2010s vibe?

does the rest of her bend like that elbow?

Teenage Dream (the album) was like the soundtrack to my high school years.

ew wtf

Chronicle (2012)

Song to Song made me cry with how it made me feel time traveled

Jersey shore - tv
Spring breakers - movie

The We and The I has the best depiction of going to a highschool in the early 2010s there is.

I miss you spamming on fit lmao

tho the early 2010s were shit too. It keeps getting worse

Everything from around 2004 to 2017 feels the same to me, I couldn't tell you what happened when and sometimes not even in what order

No, that's three distinct eras. 2004-2009, 2010-2012, and 2013-2017 (which is really the same era as now)

i got bored of posting the same things and haven't found anything new worth posting yet

All feels the same to me. The 90s were one thing, circa-9/11 was another, then post-9/11 era, and then now

GO BACK TO SPACE YOU STUPID BITCH

There's a very obvious divide between the world before iPhones and the world after. 2005 had more in common with 1995 than it did with 2015.

my small equine

Project X

the 2010s had no vibes. it was the start of the endless current year.

I watched this for the first time last year and couldn't believe how 2010s it was. It's got this Smosh x Nigahiga humour the whole way through. Yet somehow it works, bc Channing is charismatic and Jonah still had some charm.
The sequel is quite egregious though, and not as funny. the last 30 mins are just a Diplo music video with a shitty chase scene. Definitely #swag #YOLO but not as clever as the first.

inb4 my nama jeff

That was the funniest scene in the sequel and it happens in the first 15 mins. I'd only recommend watching the first one desu

I graduated high school in 2012 and everyone was still calling shit retarded and each other fags, so it wasn't over by that point. I put it more at 2014ish.

I graduated in 2016, the really leftist kids would get offended but most kids were still using fag/gay/retard as an insult

The contrast between 21 and 22 really reflects how different 2012 was from 2014 even though they were just two years apart.

culture hasnt changed much since then

It's been long enough since 2010 that the nostalgia has set in for older Zoomers. The musical trends like Trap, Electro-house, Brostep, Stomp Clap Hey, etc feel very dated now, but there's still some charm to it. Everything is better in hindsight. Though I think people will find it hard to be nostalgic for 2016-2020 era, the TDS was too powerful and poisoned the cultural well. As it continues to do right now

I think 2007-2012 was a distinct cultural era, due to the rapid rise of social media and smart phones. It trailed off from 2013 onwards and by the end of the decade, culture was too fragmented to track cohesive trends.

The culture of the late 10s to now is just zoomers going

holy cr*p, did you guys know they used to make songs with guitar solos?????

and shit like that and then they make a tiktok with fucking .38 Special - Hold On Loosely playing while they stack cups and the song becomes a flavor of the month hit for the first time since 1986 or whatever, and there's not really a way to be nostalgic for that in 10+ years

2015 was the start

2013 was the start, first year of the new Mayan world.

GO BACK TO SPACE YOU STUPID BITCH

I love how they all got shit on for that stunt

I feel like if it was Sabrina Carpenter or Billie Eilish who went to space there wouldn't be as much backlash. People seem really mad at Katy Perry recently.

Eastbound and Down season 3-4

Even though it takes place in the 90s, Pain & Gain (2013)

Fuck. I love jacking it to her in this tight dress

It's because Billy Eyelash would just say "I went to space and it was cool" whereas these knuckleheads are pretending to be astronauts who did something important other than spending a lot of resources to accomplish nothing at a time when a lot of people are worried about the price of eggs and housing

probably because it was all one big weird ritual for her goddess religion which is why she came off and started talking about goddess energy like a dumb bitch so even if you dont believe me or think im reading too much into it, it oozes pretentious pseud bullshit and everyone sees it. Also pretending its an important event they are women. lol

people have been mad at katy perry since forever she just disappeared for 5+ years, remember that cringe as shit swish swish music video

Due date
Hangover
Superbad
Hunger games
Grown ups 1 and 2
Any of seth rogen like this is the end or pineapple express
Land before time
Gulliver's travels
Journey 2 mysterious island

2010s was already way past the point of no return but 2016 was where it really accelerated
Even in culture and media shit like fotw memes pumped out, Disney going full on with live action, capeslop, tv becoming irredeemable crap, music were also unbearable

Imagine Katy Perry was your sister and was totally coming onto you inappropriately at a family gathering and playing with your feet and shit

katy perry did nothing different than any white woman who flies to europe by herself for a vacation

I was thinking of the same thing, most people these days will just look for any reason to shit on you if they already don’t like you. All these same vapid cunts saying how she should have saved world hunger would have said yaaaas queen if Billie or Sabrina did the same thing

due date is kino

It's because she calls herself Katy Perry even though she is clearly not a platypus.

It was Drive.

If you ever had an older sister who came home from partying and taking ecstasy specifically on the night of July 17th, 2007 when you were 14, you don't have to do any imagining at all

Though I think people will find it hard to be nostalgic for 2016-2020 era

lmao

Its like one of those perfect movies to watch during summers

Spring Breakers remake with Addison Rae, Sydney Sweeney and Jenna Ortega when?

IMG_1882.jpg - 2048x3072, 1.45M
